I think the only difference is trim and headlight. My 1 year cy50a has 5500 miles with no major issues but a number of small ones and next to no support or wiring diagram. 20 20 hindsight tells me to go for 12" wheels. Good luck!

How are you checking the system? I always start with connecting the black (negative) of my tester (it can be a light, or a meter; a light is great and easy for first stage testing) to the negative battery terminal. Next, of course touch the positive bat. term. . If ok, then follow the hot wire thru the system. Older models use the frame(or engine cases) as ground instead of a separate wire. Check if the negative bat. term. has voltage (or the light goes on) between it and the eng. case or frame. If so, the ground connection between the bat and the rest of the machine is bad.

Sometimes installing a plug in an awkward place can result in the socket canting and cracking the plug. It doesn't always fail to spark immediately. I will never admit to making such a newbie mistake. If the socket doesn't have a rubber insert, make one with duct tape. Wrap a plug with it, sticky side out, then finish with a wrap of smooth side out. Get to the point, trial and error, where it will just push fit into the socket. The smooth side out means it can be easily removed and reused. You have just made a custom special tool!

It would be great to hear members results from 'hi-perf' cams. Please mention other mods.

First class! Doing same on my Tao-Tao 50. Adding a few marker lites also. Not sure bout the led headlights, as this scoot does not have the well shaped reflector the higher end scoots have. Keep you posted.
