I have the number: 294859. The company, Piaggio, that supplied the part no longer does. I emailed them three times and they said they can't help me because it is not one of their scooters, although the part itself seems to have come from them. I have a 2009 Schwinn scooter.
I've been looking online and called numerous sources, but no luck so far. It's not looking promising :-( That's why I thought I may have to go to a Plan "B" if there is one. Thanks, Ed

Good evening all. I'm at a loss at the moment still. Seeing that I may not be able to get this choke control module, I'd like to see how I'd go about maybe rewiring the scooter and changing up some electrical components to get this thing running. I've been working on my 2002 Toyota Tacoma truck and my wife's 2000 Subaru Forester for years, but I don't have the experience of working on the electrical system of a 150cc scooter.
Does it seem possible and reasonable to do a rewire? Thoughts please. Much appreciated. Ed

Well, popping the cover off wasn't an easy task. Check out the attached picture. Inside is a circuit board with resistors and who knows what else buried in a hard epoxy-like substance :-( No dirty contacts to be seen.
I don't want to believe that this scooter is a goner because of this one faulty part that is no longer manufactured by the original supplier in Italy. The scooter cranks, and cranks, and......but won't start. This module is connected to the stator, cdi, ignition switch, ground, and electric choke. According the the mechanic I had look at it last week, this choke control module is not completing a circuit somehow and needs to be replaced.
Any other thoughts folks?
Thank you, Ed

Well, I unwrapped all the electric wire harnesses and also found, online, an electrical drawing from another Schwinn scooter that matches my Valo 150cc. I traced and identified all the components against the drawing. I now get it! :-)
The part that my mechanic said may be bad is noted on the drawing as a choke control module. It is tied to the ignition switch, magneto, CDI, electric choke, and ground.
Anyone have any info they can give on the possibility of replacing this part if it is indeed faulty? I've attached a photo of the module on my scooter and the electrical drawing. Thanks again, Ed

Thanks for that response. I don't have a wiring diagram. I am going to trace the wires today and follow up with your thoughts. I appreciate you shedding some light on this concern for me. I will post a follow up to my progress. Thanks, Ed

Hello all. Here is a picture of the relay that I'm trying to find a replacement for. The original manufacturer, Piaggio, no longer supplies it and won't give me any specs on it, volts, amps, etc. My Schwinn Valo 150cc is down until I can find this part. Any ideas anyone? Thanks, Ed

Hello all. I'm new here and hope someone can help out with a scooter problem. My wife and I bought a used 2009 Schwinn Valo150 scooter on Craigslist with only 1100 miles on it. We rode it without any problems for 600 miles over the course of several months. Then one day after riding about 30 miles it stalled and I can't get it running.
I currently have a mechanic working on it at a scooter dealership here in Central Fl, but he is having problems with it also. He is to a point where he has spark, fuel, and compression, but it still won't start. He said that he doesn't see any Schwinn scooters come through his shop so he has to do some more detective work on this model to see what is going on.
He changed out the stator, cdi unit, carb, and I had replaced the fuel pump and filter. Battery is fully charged also. He now believes that it could be the ignition relay which has part #294859, FYM, F704-12, 080101, Made in Italy stamped on it. I'm stuck as to where can I get this replacement part or one that can be swapped out in place of this specific brand. I see only a few outdated, foreign ebay ads and nothing else online.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed
