Thanks Motley!
I found the engine stamp by the back tire.
JL 1PE40QMB

So I looked that up and found it's a 2 stroke 40mm 50cc minarelli type Chinese engine.
So I'm trying to find a carb, air filter box crankcase gasket and panels...hahahaha..the panels are probably a lost cause but will try.

So I bought this scooter from a guy for $100. He said it was a 1996 Honda Retro that needed a carb cleaning and air filter box to run.
Soooooo, when my 10 year old son and I saw it we felt it would be a good father-son project. I have a trrminal heart condition and am on heavy medications that apparently impaired my judgement on this one.
I don't know exactly what I have or what I will need to get it going.
I looked up the info on the sticker on the frame: _______________________________________ Model: JL 50QT-21
Frame: LB2TAB21043C18615
GEELY GROUP CO., LTD ________________________________________
I looked up the number a d it shows this is a 2004 Geely made in China.
I have pictures of the carb and am guessing I can get a 50cc carb for it easy enough. Right?
