It's critical that the housing doesn't leak or the carb won't open the main jet.

Ah ha I caught you. You took the carb off without taking the air filter housing off. Now you must check the air filter housing throughly for leaks, especially around where the tube that connects the carb to the filter.

The pilot jet will just screw out.

Most people use a guitar string to open the jet back up.

The 1 on the left is the pilot jet, it also has the smallest hole and is most likely to clog.

A lot of people just unscrew the jet and hold it up to a light to see if they see light

your cable is pulled as tight as it can be. Mine has only 4 or 5 threads showing on the left of the locknut.

I think you may be pulling air in the hole you use to prime the carb and bypassing the carb. Investigate that theory while I go for my bicycle ride.

Take the hose loose shoot some gas in it and take a cork from a wine bottle and use that to plug the hole just to see what happens next time.

So we have fuel in the bowl, but it's not getting to the intake manifold because of a possibly clogged pilot jet. If the pilot jet was working we'd at least be able to idle. Frustration is approaching dangerously high levels. I wish the next time you try to start it you'd keep cranking it. As soon as it tries to start you let off the button. What did you do with the other end of the hose you connected to the intake manifold. It's properly stopped up I hope. Intake manifold to carb clamp is tight?

After you try to start it again. Maybe after dark get the old carb and take out the pilot jet. If you're careful you can just take the air filter off and take it loose from the intake manifold and swap out the pilot jet. You may be able to get it without taking the throttle cable loose. Another thing for your list is starting fluid $2@walmart.

I know the pilot jet was working on the old carb, you just couldn't get the main jet to come on.

I have a 10" screwdriver I use for the drain screw it makes it easy. Another thing for your list. I was looking at your video trying to see where your fuel line is going. I couldn't see but it is going into the side of the carb and not to the bottom of the bowl right?

If you open the carb drain screw the way you have it set up you could conceiveably drain the fuel tank with the petcock valve on. You should crack it open to see if it's getting fuel to the bowl.

When you fill too much raw gas in the cylinder and the piston comes up to compress the what should be air/fuel mix and it's all fuel somethings gotta give. Liquid doesn't compress.
