The short story is that many of the lesser quality "schlock" scooter distributors have left the US. The only decent ones that come to mind are sourced from Znen. You might also try the 300cc Linhai's.
When you figure that some 65% of the scooters sold in the US are 50cc's, 150cc size is the next biggest segment, that doesn't leave a whole lot left over for the 200cc plus market.

Unless you win..... Then it's indeed a binding contract. Nope...... read the fine print....NON BINDING.
Policy overview
A non-binding bid is a bid that shows a buyer's interest in purchasing an item, but it doesn't create a formal contract between the buyer and the seller.
All bids made in the Real Estate and eBay Motors vehicles categories are considered non-binding.
Remember, bids placed in any other category are a legal commitment to purchase the item. We strongly encourage you to read the other terms for more information.
Make sure your listing follows these guidelines. If it doesn't, you may be subject to a range of actions, including listing removal, limits on your buying and selling privileges, and suspension of your account.

I had a distributor tell me once of his trip to Asia to source scooters and atv's. He said in Taiwan the first thing the manufactures wanted to know were the engineering specifications, but that in China the first thing they wanted to know was the anticipated volume and price point.

JR, Nothing frosts my pickle more than an eBay seller that adds additional "fees" in the fine print. And why eBay lets them do it is beyond me.

Yes the tao tao's are a pretty popular scoots. They are not expensive so a lot of folks can afford them. They are not bad scoots and are easy to fix and parts galore. The funny thing about TaoTao is that in my dealings with them, they are pretty upfront and decent people to do business with. They make no bones about their marketing philosophy. They're cheap and want volume. In the couple of times I've needed to resolve problems, they reacted in a reasonable time and manor. To them it's a numbers game.

By the time that dealer tacks on shipping and handling and then a bogus documentation fee show us the bottom line/ Maybe.......but everything IS negotiable. He may just want to move it fast.

Nothing wrong with luck!
I have to keep reminding myself the some 65-70% of scooters sold in the US are 50cc's. Here in western Pennsylvania a 50cc is rarer than hens teeth. Just to many hills to deal with. I think we maybe sold 8 or so in the 6 years we were in business.

I just got back from a visit to my local Honda dealer. He has a new 150cc Honda PCX scooter for sale for $2800 !!! This has to be the no-brainer of all times. A Honda.... the gold standard of powersports... dealers everywhere....a reputation for quality no one come close to.... a bike that people put in the garage, pull it out four years later and starts right up. The Holy Grail of scooters....for $2800 ? I can die a happy man.
