When I dealt with BMS, they seemed to be pretty stand up guys. Have you asked them for any help you may need?

Is it just me or are we seeing more and more threads starting with the words I just bought a TaoTao ........and now it won't "Fill in the blank"?
Having been through the great "Scooter Madness" of '08 and '09... the number of schlock scooters to hit our shores has diminished greatly. As a former dealer who still has access to dealer pricing, it is easy to see why most drop-ship sellers(I'm loath to call them dealers) offer the TaoTao brand. With 5 distribution centers which lowers shipping cost, low pricing, and willingness to sell to practically anyone who purports to be a dealer, Tao Tao is indeed a drop-shipper's dream. TaoTao fills the need for those shopping for the low-cost scooter option. However, as we're seeing more and more, that low cost option often comes with it's own set of problems.
Quite a few top-tier distributors have sourced their offerings from Znen. Znen has proved its ability to build a pretty impressive scoot.
Their are other major US distributors sourcing their offerings from a relative few Chinese manufactures.(Sunright, Excalibur, Cougar, SSR, come to mind) Its refreshing to see that these distributors in addition to spec'ing a higher quality Chinese scooter, are making alliances to bring in various Taiwanese bikes, ie: TGB, Adly, et al .

Other than the fact that they look goofy and cost an arm and a leg, I couldn't tell you.

I was the SYM dealer for Pittsburgh. The bike was my personal ride. Rich gave me the "poor puppydog look" so I sold it to him! We had it shipped down to him using Uship. Actually, I think I've sent down some 5 scoots for him and Sue.

Geez, I feel bad. I put the first 1000 miles on that scoot, Rich put on the rest. I wish I could help, but as I used to explain to our customers, my partner Mike could fix your scooter....I could do your taxes.
Knowing that Rich kept that scooter meticulously maintained, I can only think that it has to be something simple and stupid.
BTW, The Citycom 300 is a HUGE leap for a novice scooter rider. When you do get it started, please be careful. That scooter "shiats and gits"
Good Luck!

Oye...where to begin. Why anyone would buy a scooter that doesn't run without having a rudimentary knowledge of scooter mechanics is beyond me. Nevertheless, maybe one of our esteemed elder members will take the time to pen a "mechanical troubleshooting Check-list" and post it to the tech section of this forum. Oh wait.......someone did..... scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/5294/gy6-troubleshooting-chartGood luck and welcome to scootering.
