I have this same problem with my Linhia 257cc JCL. I actually cut a trap door in the bottom of the scoot, lay it down on a furniture blanket and loosen the exhaust valve lock nut. Then turn it counterclockwise a half turn. Never even checking the clearance with a feeler gauge anymore. Tighten the lock nut and button her up. She then runs just fine. I never even touch the intake valve anymore. Its the exhaust valve that's causing all the problems not being able to take the super high heat generated at the exhaust HEAT. They used a substandard exhaust valve in our engines around that time. They found out you can not chinse on the exhaust valve when building an engine. They must be of the highest quality steel for the job at hand.

Hi , I'm new to this forum. I just bought a 250 water cooled scooter at Killermotorsports.com. Would anyone happen to know if this scooter (JCL-MP 250 A) with a Linhai liquid cooled 250cc motor is a Over head cam, or Over head valve ? And also, Would this be a GY6 style motor or are all GY6 style motors forced air cooled ? Thanks for your input. John
