Alright i haven't had time to sit down and adjust it yet. but i make sure i start it and rev the engine every day. Today i left it on the trickler while starting with electric and it worked! Started fairly fast. Reved for a minuet and died. Did that a few times before it would stay running. Definitely seems like its only getting the gas that drips into the bowl over time then dies. Unless its warmed up for 20 mins or so. I should be able to adjust it tommorow and let you guys know. I really appreciate the help its already come a long way from when i got it.

Does the engine need to be able to idle in order to adjust the air/fuel? because it doesn't idle.

Awesome Alleyoop ive been looking for the air mixture screw. Im going to try adjusting it tomorrow. i also cleaned out the kick started and it feels so smooth and comes back up smoothly now. And im going to replace the battery asap. Ill let you guys know if I have any luck with it. Earlier today it started 2nd kick and ran for 20 ft, died. Ran again for 20 ft died. Then ran for, spurring about 10mph, for awhile. After that it slowly starts running better and faster. And for some reason sometimes after it dies. It just wont start unless you leave it sit for at least 5 mins.

Ok some how i got it to where it starts now with 1-3 kicks. But it runs horribly for like two miles. Sputtering up to speed. And will only top out at like 10mph. Then it slowing starts going a little faster after about two miles but still sputtering. And then eventually it starts going pretty fast. But still sputters to get up to speed. I don't know how to describe what its doin :/ Any idea whats wrong their??
And no haven't been able to check my valve gaps. Thats seems like a little be out of my skill range with engines. From what I saw anyway.

If i get a new battery would it be easier to start with electric? Maybe because it has more juice it turns over faster? What kind of battery is good for this scooter and how much do they go for?

Yesterday it started for a little, died. Started again and after i got it warmed up for a while it would actually stay running and i got about 20 mins of riding in before i had to go to work. I need it to be more reliable though. And i cant trust it because sometimes it just wont start. And i must mention i can never get it to start with just electric start. And it still takes a few very fast kicks to get it started.

Alright i finnaly got it to start. I have no idea why it decided to out nowhere. i didnt do anything special. it started once ran for about 30 secs and died. then it wouldnt start. Waited a few mins. And it started again, ran for 30 secs to a minuet and died. i waited a little again and started it, rode it around the block once and it bogged out and died. I have to keep giving it gas to keep it running. Any reason why it wont stay running? And it wont idle either. Also what type of battery do i need for this type of scooter? And how much is it. Because mine will only stay charged enough to try n start it once or twice. And then its back on the trickler.

I just checked it for spark, its good. And do they have washers on the spark plug? because the plug dropped in the cover for the air filter thing and i had to fish it out. Just wondering if i missed a washer. But anyway it STILL WONT START. The battery will only stay charged long enough for me to try for a few seconds. it seems like its turning over and firing. And i smell exuast after trying to start it. Any other sujestions?

Sorry but whats the petcock? Theres an arrow on the fuel filter. Should it be pointing toward the fuel tank or the carb? Rite now i put it toward the carburetor and fuel comes out better now.

Yes im holding the break down, and its on the center stand. And i only hold the starter down for a couple seconds a a time, and like 20 secs apart. 15 mins may be a little exaggerated sorry.
Im tryin to check the fuel filter. With the left line disconnected should gas be able to flow through the filter? Because mine is a very slight drip if that.

I forgot to mention i did pull off the kick stater cover expecting it to be very gummed up. It was actually fairly cleaned and seemed to be put together properly. It sounded much better turning over today with electric start. Kick start seems ok. But proberly not as good as new. But it still will not start. Again tryin to avoid tear down i just took off the automatic choke today, shot some more carb cleaning in there. Tried to start it for like 15 mins, waitin 15 mins, and tried again for about 10 mins. Still will not start. The fuel filter splashes everytime the engine cranks so i think its getting gas. ONE time it sounded like it tried to spudder like almost starting. But it didnt. URG the guy rode it too me to sell it. Now it wont run.

I noticed you guys have a good community here of noligable people. So i think someone on here could help me. I bought a 2010 bash 49cc scooter with like 41xx miles on her. It ran "ok" and my buddy rode it to me to sell it. It started fine for the first 12 hours i had it. but i had to warm it up forever. And it often would just spudder and die even when i gave it gas. So today i woke up and cleaned the air filter, and shot some carb cleaner in the hoses and by the fuel filter. And charged the batttery for the elec start. Now when i go to kick it it makes a grinding noise kinda and the kick starter stays down. But is fairly easy to pull up. And when useing elec start it kinda makes a clanking noise when turning over. It ALMOST starts. but just wont. Any sujestions? Im trying to avoid tearing it apart. But if all else fails, ill have nothing to loose.
