If Anyone has the water cooled gy6 That looks like the stock photo could you let me know the distance for the front main mount. I would appreciate it. I think I found the engine I want to put in scoot

It doesn't say bn anywhere on the engine code. But it does say 157qmj-III.  |

If I could get one and mount it I don't think rewiring would take much and I know I can get a radiator and hose pretty cheap. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the input. That was kind of what I was afraid of. I tried MBE but just like every other place they are out of stock. I can't even find a used engine

It might be just as simple as taking the outer part of the variator off and putting the belt on and putting it together again. I would check the roller weights while it is off though.

so I have found. I found a water cooled one I just dont know if the front motor mount is the same size/distance as the scooter is set up for.

Since I have had no luck finding a air cooled engine for my scoot I noticed it looks almost the same as the cf moto water cooled.
Any thoughts or experiences with converting to that style of engine?

After looking at countless pictures of gy6 engines I noticed something. My engine looks almost identical to the water cooled ones from a kymco or cf moto. What all is water cooled on those engines? I wonder what it would take to convert it to water cooled

It look questionable so if I rebuild I will replace it. I don't want to do a complete rebuild again if I can avoid it

Egh if I can find a motor I will just put it in and put some better weights in it. But that darn thing seems to not exist on its own. It's a shame because the slightly bigger rebuild with the big 4 valve head is gonna cost as much as the motor most likely

Oh where to start. Let go top down.
The valves are both stuck open. So I am assuming the head it toaste.
The pistons is cracked in half
The bottom of the cylinder sleeve is beat up fron the connecting rod smashing into it.
The timing chain snapped.
The chain guides got messed up.
Where the pin connects the piston to the connecting rod is scored badly.
And that's just what I have so far I am thinking the oil pump will probably be messed up as well with all the metal that got down there.
$1300 scoot now worth $0
