It might be just as simple as taking the outer part of the variator off and putting the belt on and putting it together again. I would check the roller weights while it is off though.

When a belt snaps it tends to leave fragments all over the inside of the drive case, sometimes they`re only small but if they`re not cleaned out they can cause problems. It`s always wise to take the variator off and examine it and the rollers, and give it a good clean. Also pop the clutch assembly off and examine that to make sure no fragments have jammed between the drive faces or around the clutch friction/springs area etc. While they`re both off give the interior of the drive case a good clean out with a brush or compressed air.

Roketamc70 is correct, if the inner facing moved out the weights could be lodged and the variator will have to be opened up to get them back in. A little piece of cardboard is supposed to be stuck in there to keep it from moving. Get an impact and a strap wrench and remove the nut to remove the outer pulley. It's not that hard and you'll have to learn sometime. Let us know if you need help with that. Rich

Well, it didnt went that well, but i had to learn anyway, first as i dont have an impact tool or a starp wrench i broke a few arts of the outer ulley , now i have to buy a new one, but after i disasembled the variator, it was just a matter of clean it and reinstalled, put the new belt, and put everything back together, did a test drive and everything went ok, now is it normal to smell like burning tire for a few minutes during the test drive? its not smelling anymore, tomorrow ill buy the outer pulley and install that just to have everything in nice shape. all parts look clean , the clutch had a few pieces of the belt, but i clean the and hoe tomorrow everything gets ok. thanks for the advice guys.

Well, good job, you passed CVT 101. Yeah, they can smell a bit for a while. There's a coating on them that burns off. As long as it stopped you're good. Rich

I thought I was reading my post from 2 weeks ago...
Mine broke as well. I disassembled the variator after someone here suggested it, (I used an air impact wrench) and found the rollers were out of track.. Took it apart, reassembled, and went for a nice ride yesterday...
Good luck
