Richard, Cruiser Thank you for your input. Yesterday I purchased on Amazon following part for $7.80. Scooter Starter Solenoid Relay GY6 50cc 125cc 150cc Chinese ATV Starter Relay Solenoid www.amazon.com/Scooter-Starter-Solenoid-Relay-Chinese/dp/B009SZVPVQDescription says that it is compatible with 250cc as well. Hopefully it is a proper part. As soon as I will receive it and will try to install it I will give Doc Forum a full account on success or failure of the installation. Sincerely Ben Butin

Starter Solenoid problem 2011 RK 250cc Scooter Type 54B After experiencing following symptoms: Intermittently Scooter would not start (no sound of the starter, nothing, dead) Would run even after taking key out of ignition. Drains battery. After doing research at the Scooter Doc Forum Archives (thank you very much) I came to conclusion that I have a bad solenoid. Disconnected battery and pulled solenoid out. As I was pulling solenoid out it came apart on to two separate parts . Questions: What is the proper procedure of replacing Solenoid. Specifically, connection of a small green/red wire which seems to be pressed in. Can I purchase NOT Chinese made solenoid for my scooter? Where is the best place to obtain it? Can my scooter be equipped with mechanical starter bypassing electronic starter? Your help would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely Ben Butin Attachments:

Gentlemen,
First I would like to express my deep appreciation to the Forum for guidance and support. What would I do without you?
After you identified the problem we knew exactly where to look and found the location of the broken hose at the bottom of the carburetor. At NAPA we bought much better quality hose than the Chinese crap, and Corbin clamps. It was a bit of a challenge to put the new hose into place but it is done and scooter runs yet again.
Thanks a lot.
Sincerely

Thank you everybody for identifying placement of the loose hose as a carb drain hose.
Yesterday I got distracted with real life needs. Today my friend a motorcycle rider will come to help me fix the problem. I will keep everybody posted with the results.
Sincerely

2011 RK 250cc Scooter Type 54B purchased March 29th 2012. 890 miles up to date. After winter hiatus I started my scooter and immediately encountered a problem of a very active gas leak (more like a pour). After taking a side off I found a disconnected hose. Cannot figure out where does it go. Please help. Thank you Ben Butin Attachments:
