hi sorry to be late responding as been over run at work, done wat u sed and yes there was fuel in float bowl as it drained out. starting to lose patience with the bike as its got me baffled. could it be the enricher and puzzles me why the pipe that runs from valve cover to air filter seems to sound like air escaping near air filter

That pipe if you follow th4 hose connects to a CANISTER and the CANISTER should have a VACUUM hose and another hose that probably goes to the top of your gas tank which is a VENT for the gas tank and all it does it traps fumes and sends them back into the air inlet to be burned again. How long has it been since it last ran? If it has been months then the problem is the carbs PILOT JET is clogged with varnish and cannot suck gas into the motor. In which case you will need to take the carb off and clean out the carbs jets and passages. You can also check if FUEL IS GETTING TO THE CARB, take the fuel hose off the carb and stick it in a CUP and crank it over,Fuel should stream into the cup. If it does then most likly the Pilot Jet and passage are clogged. I have a tutorial on how to clean it out it is very simple and easy. I will post the link here: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/12495/clean-carb-jets-passageshi again, it last ran in december and cut out in rain and wouldnt even turn over after that. i fitted new starter motor in january and only last week put a new carb on so i cant see the jets bein blocked as its new

Great, if you have spark and compression it is a simple fix just a fuel delivery problem.

Gas can be getting to the carb but not into the motor. AH, that sounds like a VACUUM hose and ALL VACUUM HOSES MUST NOT BE OPEN they must connect to something. Can you take pictures of your carb area and hoses sounds like something is not connected or connected wrong. Alleyoop il take some pics tomorrow when im home from work as its dark out now here in uk. thanks for the help so far

Ok, just wanted to make sure you tested for spark on the motor, many test for spark on the frame and that is not good enough because if the motor is not grounded it will not spark while in the motor. Sounds like a fuel delivery problem, so try this take the AIR FILTER OFF and put your hand over the inlet to cut off most of the air and crank it and see if it fires. Alleyoop i did disconnect the fuel line at the carb earlier and cranked engine and fuel came out of pipe so i guess it must be delivering to the carb ok shudnt it. one thing i did notice it after i turn engine over a pipe that goesfrom inlet manifold to air filter releases air by air filter end.

Turn the fuel ratio mixture on the carb clockwise until it stops then turn it counterclockwise 2 1/2 turns. Also how did you test for SPARK? When did it last run and what happened did it fall over or did you change something etc.. Alleyoop hi i tested spark by putting it on top of cylinder and cranked engine with electric start. i last run in december as it just died on me in rain and would turn over so changed starter motor and the carb and since then it turns over but thats it

Use a jumper from the negative battery to the terminal of the coil that has green on it, then connect another jumper to the engine from the green connector. John hi john what will that do
