check the intake boot where the carb is attached going into the engine. they are plastic and crack all the time from heat and vibration. you will have to lift the seat and remove the storage box. grab ahold of the carb and move it up and down then look for cracks in that elbow to the engine. get a flashlight and look closely

I use guitar strings to clean the jets. they are small enough. the pilot jet is definitely the problem

check the air filter. its probably saturated in oil. if it is remove the vent hose from the valve cover that goes into the air box. just get a longer line and run it up the side by the gas tank
