The sensor is very visible when the hood is off on this one. If direct power doesn't make the fan work then this is the next step.
Went ahead and changed out another load of water in the bike last night. Didn't take too long, getting good at getting it apart. Fluid still green, though a brighter shade than the first batch. Next time I'll see about draining the overflow completely and refill from that instead of from the top of the radiator.
Still stays cold, only heated to about 1/3 last night.

I forgot to mention that the fan never came on, even when it hit the red while refilling. When I get a chance I am going to attach some power directly to the fan and see if it's broken or not.

Last time I rode it the biggest problem I had was getting the temp to raise so I could see if the temp was going to overheat or not. I suppose that's a good sign.
Didn't get a chance to flush again today, probably this friday, then again on saturday, and maybe one more time on sunday. I plan to flush till it's clear as suggested but a minimum of 3 times overall.

No chin bar on mine, the largest I could find was still making me feel cramped in it (I suffer from noggimus maximus). I got a full face, no chin and it suits me but I want a modular one with bluetooth built in.

Okies, didn't remove the rad, just drained it and for now refilled with plain water. Took a bit for it to heat up so I could 'burp' it, damn near over heated and I have to shut it off for a couple of minutes. Finally it DID 'burp' and I added a cup of more water.
Rode it around for a bit, it rose to half, then dropped to 1/4 at worst. Didn't see any 'gel' coming out when I drained it, but the fluid wasn't new. Normally it looks neon, almost glow in the dark but this stuff was darker. Still green, but a dark cloudy green.
Ran the water today, gonna drain and refill again tomorrow, then run it some more. The third time I'll put fluid back in.

I live in an apartment. No garage, etc, to do serious work. I CAN get the radiator out and just take that upstairs maybe, but the hoses/pipes in the engine itself are the parts that won't be as easy.

That sounds about right. It's the right year for that. I may go ahead and just pay the $60 for a flush and fill then. I just don't have the equipment for that otherwise.

I was planning on draining and refilling, but no idea if that would find any 'air pockets' or not.

This will likely apply to all scoots, not this mine. Does the engine temp gauge actually measure only the engine or the coolant? I ask because of the times the temp nearly maxed out. I rode a good long ride and only got the temp to halfway after about 30 minutes. It also suddenly dropped again to about 1/3rd just as I was getting home.
For all I know, these are just perfectly natural quirks of this scoot, but I guess it don't hurt too badly to ask.

That 'solar' scooter wasn't built that way, it's a factory electric scoot with the panels (folding, of course) attached. If I ever manage to get the money/time I plan to do something similar, but I want a faster bike than most electrics tend to be.
I read an article recently about the British 'bike' corps working in the Mid East. Quads, not bikes (despite the name) but that airborne cushman looks to be a ww2 version of the same thing. The paratroops need a way to get around after they hit the ground.

Ugh. That picture is why we can't have nice threads.

I won't ride if there's actually ice out, but above that I will. I have base layer top and bottom (sometimes a thermal shirt) then shirt. I put on my overalls that go over my chest somewhat, then vest, then jacket. I have 2 jackets, a thin light one, and a heavier leather one. I wear 2 layers of gloves, but my fingers always get cold. A good windscreen for the fingers would help that, I may just get some of those 'overmitt' things.
I wore all that and the heavy jacket with 40F a few days ago.
