.... So I took apart a few things and checked everything. And noticed I have a wire thats not connected to anything on my cdi. Its black w/ white stripe.
Also I have a few clutch bells. And they seem to be a bit different? As in weight? would this affect my top speed? I have swapped out one and have noticed a slower start off and acceleration?

gy6 qmb139 50cc 4stroke....actually I assembled this bike from many scooters. I dnt know how many miles? And no tach. Brand new spark plug. I do have another belt to compare to and unless there both stretched. Just starting to ride for the first time. And was thinking it would go 30 or so. everything is stock except the coil and the cdi. the cdi is blue and says q power p50 but its hard to read the lettering is a bit worn. coil is a little square box about 2''x2''x1'' black and has a blue plug connector. im starting to lean towards the clutch? Should i be able to depress the spring by hand? Its really tuff..lol and its looks stock.

So my scoot wont go over 25mph. Iv been looking at things and have noticed I cant depress my clutch variator ( I believe thats what it is?) by hand? And have noticed the spring is a bit rusty? And I also have a set of just black rollers in the front variator. There unmarked? anyone know if these are the stock? Also I was holding the throttle wide open one the center stand and at what seemed to be full speed with wot black smoke was faint but I could see it? Is the carb out of adjustment? Thank you in advanced.

actually everything is unhooked. Except the coil it seems.Theres no way to just rig one until I can properly run one. I did install a automotive magnetic tail/brake light. Just trying to get by so I dnt get hassled for a brake light?

Well Im tring to run a simple brake light and have no power? The battery is dead but hooked up. And I was thinking the little red wire hooked to the battery would have power to run a light after starting? Or is there anywhere I can pull power from to just wire it up my self? I failed to say this is a frankin bike and has no lights kinda stripped dwn to frame and seat..lol
I want to pull power from the wire hooked to the coil?

If it was in 150 pieces are you sure you assemble the parts correctly. Timing mark lined up is the main concern. Do you have spark at the plug and of course fuel. Lol. yea Im a rookie... So AS to address this I actually found that the carb I had decided to install on this project was bigger than another one I had. The outside or exterior of the carb was somewhat identical. Most parts being swappable between the two. Except for the diaphragm, spring, and air fuel ratio screw. After messing with the big one with the vacuum diaphragm open and the scoot started i was pulling it up and down and twisting the throttle. and got a desired acceleration and starting. (I forgot to mention it was bogging at wot.) So installing the smaller carb adjusting it adjusting the valves new plug premium gas switched back to the regular cdi and new ground wires. She rides quite decently for a 50cc. So thanks this was much help.

Ok, So I have adjusted the valves. The intake valve was really tight like a whole turn or more. So I have set it using a Arizona tin can. The exhaust seemed to be ok using my tin gauge. With this step being done I tried starting it with no luck. So I have popped out the spark plug and its black with wet gunk. Keep in mind i was running it with the valve open? and had adjusted the fuel/air screw way out...now realizing it was filthy rich...It was brand new less than 20mi ago.

Well I have read many threads and seen a few videos. And I cant seem to decide on the gap? .003-.005 is what im reading. And is there any tips on things around my home to use that might be .003? instead of a actual gaping tool. for instance pop can tin can?
