We had a customer bring in an older JCL 2-stroke 50cc scooter yesterday that has been sitting for about 3 years. He said he had an oil leak and the oil tank was dry. We saw no signs of leakage so we deceived to try & make it run. anything that has sat that long we always pull the carb & check it out, the float bowl on the carb was full of 2-stroke oil (no gas, just straight oil). Any ideas on how the oil got from the oil tank into the float bowl of the carb?

We have a customers scooter in the shop, it is an NST YY50QT-6. Here is what doesn't work: headlight (high or low beam), turn signals, brake light. After it starts the tail light lights up, the dash lights come on & the running lights beside the head light come on. I know the brake light switches work because you have to apply the brakes to make it start. Anyone have any ides where to start looking on this thing. We have tried new stop light bulb & turn signal bulbs.

We had a customer bring an Ice Bear Zodiac 300 trike into the shop recently complaining about only getting 45 MPG. I have told him I would fill the tank & ride it for a while and see what kind of mileage I got out of it, I put about 125 miles on it riding from my house to the shop (9 miles one way) & doing errands around town on it & got 45.2 MPG. My question is should it do better or is that all he will get? Ice Bears web site claims 70 MPG which seems like a lot considering this weighs over 600 lbs. Thanks in advance for any input on this. Sorry about that the customer was told by the dealer he bought it from that he should get about 70 MPG. I just talked to a rep from Ice Bear & he told me that around town the Zodiac 300 should get between 60-80 but on the highway at speeds of 55-65 the mileage would decrease considerably.
