I'd also just put a 130/70-13 on the front. You should have plenty of fender clearance. You'll probably like the added stability of the larger contact patch up front, but your turn in will be slightly slower.
I don't think you'd wobble so much as a smaller tire would throw off the geometry of the bike, so you would probably turn in quicker and lose mid corner stability instead of develop a true wobble, which is (technically) a straight like wiggle to the handlebars.

Something like this happened at the Indy Dealer Expo a few years back. Yamaha made a stink about a few Chinese knockoffs and they never made it to the show floor.
