Yep, brakes on. 84ish volts on red/black wire, using digi voltmeter so not so good with pulse voltage. 3 ground wires behind battery and the one on the head are ok. took the black/white wire off the cdi to check kill switch and no difference, also stripped and cleaned kill switch and bypassed the side stand switch to check that. Fixing it for a friend who kindly knackered the starter clutch so getting a bit hit and miss if the starter engages, dont know how much more testing it will take lol this is day 3!

Hi All, Trying to fix this 50cc gy6 scooter and not having any luck. Has no spark at all, i have replaced the coil, cdi and stator/pickup, followed all the online troubleshooting searches (take blk/w wire out of cdi to check kill switch etc) to no avail. Everything checks out ok apart from there is no voltage going to the coil until i release the starter button where it does a quick volt spike then the engine stops spinning. Only thing i can think of would be the reg/rec but thought i would check on here before spending more money....... Thanks in advance for any help
