I took a video this morning of it running but I don't have a way to upload it. also there's not a way to adjust the car with it on the because there's no room to get to the air adjust. so I set it at two turns out and put it on and it still does the same thing.

ok heres an update... I checked the timing once again the way you said. as it turns out it was 180deg out of time. I took the cam out and turned it the right way. put it back together and started it up. the carb was still set at 2 turns out. it started up and runs smooth at idle and has a higher idle. but it still cuts out and eventually dies if turn the throttle. I then turned the carb down to 1 turn out and and started it again. it idles good still and when I turn the throttle it will stay running but it just cuts out. the wheel never turns though. What do I check next? thanks.

180% off WOW!! You did not mention that the Cam chain was taken off before that is the only way it would get out of time like that, either that or the woodruff key is damaged and the flywheel rotated. Well the wheel will not turn until a certain RPM is reached so if when you twist the throttle it dies it never gets a chance to create enough RPMS to engage the clutch to turn the wheel. Now if the RPMS are pretty high and the wheel still does not turn then something is wrong in the CVT area, Broken belt, Variator not closing etc.. How about this Take some pictures of the carb area and hoses and air filter that would help. use this to post pictures and video: Alleyoop tinypic.com/index.php Does your scoot have a TACH, IF SO what is the rpms that you can reach before it dies? OR what are the RPMS that it IDLES at. Dieing when giving it THROTTLE could be AIR LEAKS or not enough gas.

Yes the timing chain was taken off before I got it. I kept thinking it was out of time. It idles smooth now that it's set. Could I be a tooth off and it cause problems like this? I do have a tach on the scoot. I'll take a new video and upload it when I get back home this evening. Thanks.

COOL, at least it now idles smooth for you why it will not take throttle could just be a fuel delivery problem also take pictures of the throttle cable hookup and around the carb. Could be something simple a bad hose connection causing no vacuum etcc. Alleyoop

Everything looks really good almost brand new. After you reset the timing Did you adjust the Valves? Because they were adjusted at the wrong timing.
And yes you may be off 1 chain link, when you start it and it idles smooth what rpms does it idle at. It may be to retarded if it idles low. Alleyoop

I did adjust the valves with it running again after adjusting the timimg. I think it idles at about 1500rpms.

When you try to open the throttle what kind of sound does it make? Does it make a BOGGGGGGGGGG deep sound muffled sound or just cuts off. It could be something holding it back, so sure take the CVT cover off and start it and see how it working. Alleyoop

When you do take the CVT cover off take a picture of the CVT to see how the belt is sitting on the in the Variator and the Clutch pulley. If anything holding it back it would be that the belt is HIGH on the Variator OR the Clutch is not opening. Alleyoop
