Getting my tag in FLA tomorrow. What to expect? By twowheeler (Read 1,104 times)

Ive owned the scooter for 10 mos. I understand that sales tax is not needed on items after 6 mos so I should not have to pay that. What will i need? I have a title with the date on it. Is that considered a bill of sale? I have the original receipt from Killer for 1200.00 dated 10 months ago. I can also download a bill of sale from the FLA DMV and i can have the wife sell it to me for 1.00 as well. Whats the best way to go?

I would say have your wife sell it to you for a dollar. Not sure how registration works in the state your in. But yes you are right if the price is less than the taxes are less. Good luck I thought you put 4000 miles on this scoot in 7 months. I guess I read that wrong. Well any way hope you get to enjoy it when it's legal let us no how it is out there on the road handling.

Why bother if it's a 50 I believe you don't have to get a plate for it.

Yeah i do. All mopeds with a seat must have a tag.

I know your from PA but theres plenty of folks here in FLA that can answer but for some reason wont. This forum is jacked lately.

we have enough irresponsible jerks in fla. when your scoot is stolen what do you expect from those you ask for help. in fla you don't need plates or registration. you have to wear a helmet unless you carry 20,000 in personal injury insur. feel free to visit fla dmv site and figure it out.

In missouri the state goes back to when it was originally sold and shipped from the importer. Then they collect tax and penalty's from that date. I have seen cases where a scooter had back tax and penalty's that were more than the scooter was worth for sale on craigs list for parts only. They get charged against the scooter even if you bought it 3rd party and original owner never paid or registered. Here in AR they are a lot more lenient.

Yeah I don't know why some one from flordia can't answer your question. Hope you get squared away. It does make sence if your scooter did get stolen they would have a hard time finding it.

I don't know about fla but in California they don't even look at a bill of sale as long as you have a valid title that's all they care about,,, I don't see any major problems ,,, all they give a sh!t about is money now anyways,,, pay the reg get your tags boom done

again, i am from fla. dvm has seen it all and get the "gift" trick from spouse to spouse. guess you like attention. again, wear a helmet if you don't have 20,000 medical. stay off highways and be safe. we all get pissed with the idiots playing in traffic. in my town they are tough on stupidity.

no he got it. hes on onother forum and he got his tags. was over 150 w/tax if i remember
