I just read over the weekend of a guy with a 150cc scooter that he SOLDwith 47,000 miles on it. The myth that Chinese scooters aren't good will linger for a while, but we'll know the truth and keep cashing in.

I may be wrong about this, but I would think that your odometer is counting kilometers, since the speedo's primary numbers are KPH...still pretty impressive, and twice the distance I've put on my 2011 150cc...you must be doing something right...keep it up.....Bob

Rocket's speedometer only has MPH as the speed and yes, it's truly MPH. No KPH anywhere, yet the odometer measures Kilometers.

I am pretty sure most all the chinese speedo's are all km. I am sure they just have 2 face plates to choose from, mph or km.

Zombie that's great 10,075 miles there is a place hear were I live that people down town park there scooter. There is a vespa 250 I believe it is pretty big scooter his odometer said 12,000 miles. I did not get to talk to the owner. But you should be proud 10,000 miles is a lot run about for a scooter. I met a girl about two weeks ago she has an identical scooter as me and she had 7,500 hundred miles on hers. I got to talk to her for a couple of minits and she said just general maintenance stuff has went wrong with her scooter. Tires, oil, brakes, spark plug, batterie. I am meeting some great people this year happy for it.
Ride on zombie I bet your glad you didn't sell it for that 150 you were talking about.

I am pretty sure most all the chinese speedo's are all km. I am sure they just have 2 face plates to choose from, mph or km. None of my scooters measure Km. I have a driveway .9 of a mile down the road that I checked via GPS for reference. Both the Fashion and the 150cc Bashan indicate .9 also. Rocket indicates 1.5 to that point. Oddly enough many Kymcos are in Km. You would think a large company would send speedometers useful to the country they were exporting to.

I get the same 6.8 one-way reading when making morning coffee runs to McDonald's, whether I take the scoot, the motorcycle, the pickup, or the Camaro.....but 10000 kilometers is still pretty impressive....bet most 50cc's are trashed a long time before reaching that mark...Bob

It just goes to show. The Chinese are capable of building to whatever quality level their customers specify. I blame the American importers who's mantra seems to be "Can you make it cheaper?"

I am pretty sure most all the chinese speedo's are all km. I am sure they just have 2 face plates to choose from, mph or km. I think John was making a joke about the accuracy of Chinese speedos in that it doesn't matter which plate you have on the face. John....buddy....you have to make a joke more than once a decade or they think you're being serious all the time.
I've said that before Tom, they delivered what the market wanted and that was cheap arse crate scooters. Then folks complained they broke down. Hello? A motorcycle for $700.00? Wake up! They are changing for sure as the market changes. Now you've got your quality scooters like Puma and...wait....they're toast. Hmmmmm....I'll have to go think about this one.

So true Rich. I bought my Bashan from GS Motorworks and it's been a champ. I know somebody who bought two Bashans from somebody else and one was nothing but trouble and the other had its frame bend when the owner tied it down too hard on a trailer. You can pay me now or pay me later.
10,000 km is still 6,214 miles and nothing to sneeze at from a 3 cubic inch engine.
