Does anyone know a way to mend a tire besides slime products? I've got a hole just a bit too big for slime and really don't want to bend over for some tire shop. There must be some kind of life hack for this.

i use plugs but only on the rear for any length of time,,a hole in the front i get a plug in it to get me home,,then it's a vulcanizing patch on the inside or replacement,,if you use plugs use radial tire ones,,,they will flex and squirm better and last longer,,,,,,,,,never had one fail even with well over 2000 miles on one,,,

Get a plug kit from the auto parts store. If it's too big a hole for that then an internal patch is called for.

There were some plugs some years ago that were a patch as well as a plug. I believe they went in from the inside. I have plugged but only till the new tire comes. I had a plug in the tread of a goldwing that I rode a long time when I was more daring. One important thing IF THE HOLE IS NOT IN THE TREAD FORGET PATCHING.

"Tire Woes"....Boy, do I know that feeling. Last summer I picked up a nail with the rear tire of my BMW, then two months later, same thing on the scoot. Those SOB's that run around with loose nails in the beds of their pickups, oughta be shot. I replaced both tires with new, I will plug an atv, tractor, lawn mower even a pickup, or car tire to be used as a spare....but a scooter or bike tire....not me...I'll buy a new one....Bob

Why those rear tires get the nails and screws is the front runs over the nail point first and then the head which stands it up at close to a 45 degree angle for the rear to get speared.
