the peace's do have better lights. mines too high. and its ajusted down. probably they are actually a better deal than the lingyu. the lingyu appears to be missing front&back fender. and for 650 is kinda steep. check the engine on the left side under the beltcase. if its a 139qmb or a qmb139 its a very common engine and a good one at that Ok, 2 questions. If the engine is NOT one that you mentioned, would you go for the Dash? I'm noticing the dash and several components look similiar to common scooters. Wish I knew what exactly was bad about the Dash. On the engines you mentioned, what kind of speeds can I expect and can they be made quicker?

i would prbably not buy it if its not one of the listed. one variation is the 1p39qmb which has a taller head and longer bore or something like that. parts are available but are not as cheap and not as common. realistically the top speed unmodded is about30-32 mph and about 40-45 tops modded.

Ok. On the Dash the dealer is giving me a 10month (or maybe its a year) warranty. Dont you think most bad things would happen by then? I dunno what to do.

There are about 6 factories in China that make most of the scooters. Those six or so, cloned them from Honda as the urban legend goes. They never bothered to start upgrading and improving until the PR got REALLY bad. Things are improving but they are all essentially the same if you're buying mid to low range like Jonway and Sunny. They will need work but they are dirt cheap. The engines are all the same, most of the components are all the same, they are interchangeable. In fact, some of them get over here and THEN they put badges on them for the type of scooter it supposedly is! They are all made in essentially the same way with the same stuff. Now...you want better? Go to CF Moto....oh wait...they quit making scooters! Well...there's Znen....Motorino, which is Znen....Lance...Hey! Bintelli! One of our tile ads at the top...they sell a nice scooter...seriously nice scooter! Click the tile and get the contact, talk to Justin and tell him Scooter Doc sent you. After he immediately hangs up call him back. Rich

I recently made my first Chinese scooter purchase. I detail it HERE. All in all, I paid $843 for a 150cc...delivered to my home. I'm just under 700Km on it now, and I'm still super happy with the purchase.

I bought my Tao Tao 50 the first week of March. For a 2014, I paid $850 (tax, title, etc., etc.)! The scooter place was about 25 miles from my house, the scooter showed 3 Km on the speedo, and I averaged between 40 and 50 mph ALL THE WAY HOME. I don't know if my experience is especially unique, but over and over again I hear the "30-35 mph" restriction, or someone elated about their 50cc hitting 40 mph!! I'm running 4g "sliders" in the CVT, other than that it's completely stock!

Regardless, you have to have a motorcycle license around here for anything larger than 50cc. And I don't want to have to title and insure it. Do they have a good deal on a Dash equivelent?

You are right bad luck change the oil expecally important in the beginning when your breaking it in at 200 300 miles. And don't ride it very hard for the first couple hundred miles. Some people have good luck with them some people have bad luck. Well anyway good luck and hope you enjoy it at least.

My scooter looks the same. It is a 2007 year model. The only problems I had was maintenance - Spark plug and throttle cable, headlight bulbs. It was working with the old spark plug, but i replaced it with a new one this spring. The throttle cable was fine last year, but after i took the scooter out of the basement this year, the cable was frozen. I have over 3000 miles on it and for all this years I replaced the oil only 2 - 3 times. Couple of years ago I even left it all winter out on the snow with just a tarp cover. I charged the battery and it started right up. I am beating on my scooter a lot, but it is still ruining good - I didn't expect it to last that long

As which one, exactly? So the prices are 742 for the dash 50 and 900 for the 150 dash. I'm seriously considering the 150 because I think I'll avoid all the problems, it will have all the power I need, and it's the smaller model with a larger engine so it looks like a 50cc. And it comes with a warranty. Edit: ok not sure if you added the pic but I didn't see it at first. Question answered! Thanks

But for the 150cc you will need to register and insure it. As far as I know the name brand of my scooter is Chuanl

Badluck and Justin are both me! Sorry I logged in from my phone earlier and I'm having a heck of a time with this "proboards" forum setup.
For now, my top pick is the 150cc Dash w/warranty for $901 delivered.
Then again, if you look at killermotorsports, theres many slightly larger 150's in the same price neighborhood.
