The P.A.I.R. system on my scooter failed. That's why jvino I removed it. There's no need for it, unless you live in California. Thanks.

So with the scoot bogging down and hesitating. I decided to replace the hose. I picked up a automotive PCV hose this morning and installed it. On my way in to work. The scoot started getting loud. The hose melted right at where I connect it to the aluminum pipe. Is my scoot running hot? Too hot? Thanks.

Did you block off the vacuum supply to the PAIR unit at the intake manifold. It sounds like you have a massive vacuum leak. If you put a plate on the PAIR port I don't see what hose could be melting. Can you post some pics?
Maybe your pair unit looked like this:
It's the same thing though, you block the PAIR port at the head:
And plug the vac source on the intake manifold:
Everything in between you just chuck it, why do you have a metal pipe left?

There has to be, that's how they work. The intake pressure regulates the fresh air valve which allows the pulses from the intake port to synch with the fresh air. Did you not have a canister with two large hoses and one small hose?
Vac source to PAIR canister:
PAIR system:
If you didn't have a fresh air intake hose, a PAIR port delivery hose, and a vac line, it wasn't a PAIR system and I need some pix. Rich

Ok I'm trying to upload a pic and I can't. I'll have to wait until I get home. The PAIR system is on the on the left side of the scoot. The device is other side. There is no vacuum port on it. The hose on the left comes from the under the valve cover. The hose on the right goes to a canister under the air filter. Thanks.

So admin I created a block plate yesterday and installed it. I removed all the hoses and other PAIR equipment. The only thing I noticed this morning, is it's hesitating on take off. As well it stalled on me once after I was running flat out and came up to a red light. 'Em I running too rich or too lean now? Thanks. Mike Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Here you said you took the pair off and blocked hole in the head. So there is no reason for any more hoses. I think what you may have forgotten to do is to PLUG UP THE VACUUM hose that was going to the CANISTER that the hose you took off was attached to. If you left the canister with all the hoses connected that will also loose vacuum. You need to take the VACUUM LINE on that canister and plug it up. Alleyoop

Is there not a pipe or hose that goes into the exhaust side of the head?
