Here are the two lines I zip tied, one is from the fuel tank vent or overflow and the other is from the bottom of the carb where that metal thing and spring like piece should be installed. Hopefully this makes things a little clearer..She's not going back together until I figure this out (I hope)

Took the carb to my Father in laws and the float needed and adjustment according to him. He works on his own motorcycles and carbs quite often so will put her back together and see what happens. If it doesn't work may just "upgrade" to one of those china ruckuses lol but for what it's worth I have already put over 400 miles on this beast ha what more can I expect!

See that screw at the bottom next to the drain HOSE? Does your carb have that screw there? IF so You do not need a screw on the end of the hose. They make two different carbs, 1 like the in the picture below with a built in drain screw right next to the drain hose and ANOTHER carb without that drain screw built into the carb so they put a drain screw on the end of the hose. So since you have the carb off see if the drain screw is built into the carb just like the pic below Alleyoop

Why have the tank vent come all the way up there? Cut it off about 6 inches from the tank and put a filter in it. Tie it off higher than it's inlet to the tank so gas doesn't slop out and don't overfill the tank. It is a vent hose and not an overflow. A problem arises when gas slops into it and plugs up a check valve or vapor recovery system and then the bike shuts off. So it's a REALLY poor overflow mechanism.

alleyoop, my carb does NOT have that screw on the bottom. Bashan so I should put one of those little breather filters on the fuel vent? It had no hose on it when I got it and it almost seems like it started acting up since I put that one on however did not take a longer run with it when I first got it so can't confirm that. I have also been overfilling it everytime. Thanks for the info guys I am putting it back together today, will need to order that one hose and noticed the gasket on the front of the engine where you would take off the cover to adjust the valves is damaged as well. Good thing I have some spare time at the moment or I see why these things would just sit around when problems arise!

Ok put all back together took a spin and thing was running great and was also accelerating much quicker. Went a mile or 2 not full throttle the entire time then got into the neighborhood and it crapped out again. Did these things before it went back together. Adjusted the air screw and idle and cut the hose for the fuel tank vent to about 6" didn't have a way to get a little breather at the time or a new spark plug. So basically I am back to square 1. The only thing left now that I have not tried is getting that metal piece with the screw in it from the bottom hose of carb put back on however the screw for it is missing. Officially becoming more problems than it's worth hey go figure!

I was thinking and maybe I'm wrong but if the carb was loose when you bought it then the previous owner may have been having the same problem. Maybe they took out the carb to try and fix it but couldn't so they threw it back together and sold it. A new carb is 25$ on amazon. Maybe just buy a new one. Then you can connect all the hoses into their proper places. Cutting lines hasn't worked for me yet, lol, believe me I've tried. Except for that stupid PAIR system, I cut that out and kept the hose for spair.

The DRAIN HOSE coming from the bottom of the CARB JUST BEND IT OVER AND ZIP TIE it shut so gas does not leak. I don't think they sell the Drain Hose separately that has the drain screw on the end of it anyways. Alleyoop

Alley....is that a fuel pump? Why is it sitting so high? Could it just be a bad fuel pump?

Sure looks like a FUEL PUMP and that would be a problem IF THE TANK IS LOWER THAN THE FUEL PUMP which looks like it is I see a hose going DOWN. So gas from the tank is NOT REACHING THE FUEL PUMP to pump fuel to the carb. Good Catch RICH I was not even looking for some STUPID crap LIKE THAT .

Guys yes it's a fuel pump and it's mounted in the factory spot as far as I know. I just replaced the pos got raped for 30 bucks plus tax at the local scoot joint jeez could of got a whole carb for less online! We thought the same thing because the fuel filter wouldn't fill all the way up however that experiment failed and it's still acting up. Then my father in law adjusted the float which he was certain would fix the problem but nope. I also did have that lower line on carb pinched off before and it acted up then too. What's left a new carb? Do I just put in gy6 to get parts on Amazon anyone know? I'm gonna just get a new carb and if that don't work this little bastard is out the door lol! Oh and before I forget no I have not adjusted the valves and that cover you take off to adjust the valves has a messed up gasket could that cause problems?
Oh and the previous owner was a girl who didn't know anything about working on scooters so yes she sold it because it had problems however I fixed the fuel leak and it was running great UNTIL I took it for a full throttle spin a few miles. It has gotten worse since I bought it too which is kinda odd..I don't know how but it says i have put on almost 500 miles however now it leaves me stranded every time so it's not getting ridden until I know it's fixed. Then I may dump it and just buy a new one eventually..

Have you done anything with the fuel and vac lines? In your picture they look like they may be original equipment....7 years old?...ethanol gas?... Have you checked air box..maybe a family of rodents have moved in.. I have pretty much the same style scoot...fuel pump mounted in same place....over 4000 miles, runs better and better as miles add up I replaced those rubber fuel lines with tygon, before I ever started my scoot...didn't do the vac lines, but will long before they are 7 years old...Bob [img src=" i1271.photobucket.com/albums/jj622/rks3526/000_0374.jpg" src="http:// " alt=" "]

rks, I did do some of the fuel and vac lines, basically anything that looked bad got replaced. Yours looks pretty much identical in the motor department, is your fuel filter hidden under the frame in the pic?

Do the valves. Yes, they can cause major problems. Like running a while and shutting off or not starting when warmed up etc. Is your gas tank under the floorboards? Use your engine number to order parts. See those banners going by at the top? Most of them sell parts and support the forum. Since you need some learners TLC I'd call John at NYC.
