No Pedro, you shouldn't. But I doubt many folks on the planet have your fabrication or riding skills including me...no offense G Man, you should just see some of the crap Pete has done. I don't think G Man should be trying to shoehorn a 450 into a 250 frame unless I don't have him pegged like I think I do. He's an middle aged musician like me with a good intellect and more reckless experimentation impulses than an Iraqi rocket scientist. If he gets a decent 250 engine it's plug and play and he'll have a decent bike. I'm not comfortable with him tooling around on an electric bike that he thinks he can squeeze 100 MPH out of, that's as crazy as the crap I've done and I don't wish that on a good dude like G Man. G Man, BPNW is one of the tiles at the top. Mike will probably answer but if not ask for him. He's a very nice, honest man. Tell him Rich from Scooter Doc said to call and don't let him hang up. Seriously, just tell him what's going on and ask for a standard engine price and a hot engine price, and see what he's got. Engines are also on E-bay but if you go that route call me first. Do you have phones on the island or do you use drums? I don't know, I've never been there, I'm just trying to learn! Rich

I have done a little research on electrics. I do know car batteries used to be cheap but die quickly if used is such an application. Deep discharge batteries last a lot longer but at the cost of almost double the weight and 3 times the cash outlay. Both versions of lead acid are way to heavy to use in a 2 wheel vehicle. The other alternative is lithium, nice weights, long life, extreme power and extreme cost. The batteries are what so far has stopped me. A super light weight trike using 3 wheel/motors chuck full of lithium would make me happy!

Rich,
Yes, I'm a musician, and we tend to be a creative lot. But I'm crazy, not stupid. I'm no mechanic, but I do know about riding and electrics. I also know that the controller I chose for the "100mph" motor allows me to program it back to 75. I normally run around 60-65 and I want the extra power if I need it to escape a bad situation. I also have an expert Motorcycle mechanic to help me with this, and he is also an expert welder.
But you do have a point. My reflexes are not what they used to be.And if I can do this without needing to bring him In, then so much the better. He costs more than I like to spend. A plug and play engine, I can go for that. As long as it works.

Wow. LOL Serious typos and I'm too tired to correct them. My head is still swimming with the amplifier sounds. A friend and I played a private gig today for about 5 hours. It don't get any better than that.

It's cool you still dig it...I got burnt at the end of my career. Five hours is a long gig, we always got a hefty sum for the additional hour. Who's the cat you gig with? Bass or what? You both do vocals? I did vocals if you can imagine, between trumpet verses; actually I was pretty good at singing. People think you're bragging when you say things like that but you know as well as I do if you don't have some confidence as a musician you first of all are scared witless to get up in front of a crowd and you suck when you do play. It's like being in health care, you better feel like you know what you're doing or you'll be one giant anxiety attack; same with being a musician. I'm still waiting on my demo CD G Man....
Anyway, I didn't want to sound derisive, I know you're no dummy. But these are tricky things, believe me I've been on unstable bikes and if you want Tess and Tickles to take a quick journey up into your abdomen try a turn induced high speed wobble on a Honda triple 2T 500. It'll take several hot showers before they come back. I'm just saying it's not just dropping a motor into a frame, or even the electric drive, and making sure it's tight. The bike has all sorts of force vectors and harmonics to deal with. Manufacturers NEVER get done testing their bikes for handling flaws and you never get rid of all of them. I know the guys that test rode at Harley in Talladega. These guys were the specialists at inducing "oscillations" as they were called. These are the high speed wobbles that kill people. I asked one how you get the bike to do that. He said "go 110 MPH, let go of the handlebars, and think wobble". He was being humorous except Tess and Tickles were looking up the ladder and I didn't laugh, it brought back memories. I'm just saying bradda, be careful, things can get dangerous and you don't know it until your bike is entering a flame out even at relatively slow speeds. JMO, I will say no more on this subject. Rich

He played acoustic bass yesterday. Looooooong gig. It was great fun though. Private party and we were well compensated for it. Not just money, but all the other little perks that come with being "In the band". It was an almost totally instrumental gig. Background for the event. Some classical, a little jazz, some classic rock, easy listening, even a few (gag) top 40's. We both sing but I'd rather not unless I have to. Which is usually because he doesn't like to sing either. LOL
I hear ya man on the wobbles. No offense taken. I totally get it. One last thing though... I have been doing mod projects since I can remember. My first one was to make the stabilizer arm on the record stack spin a 360 to hit a bell after the last platter dropped. LOL Ok you young'uns... What's that all mean? I've built electric bikes before. Had some stability issues and figured out how to correct them. Granted they don't travel 75mph. But hey... Gotta start somewhere right? LOL
CD was mailed long ago... You never got it?

They don't know what the hell we're talking about. My kids barely do and they're 40. How far back you want to go? Hi Mom:
This was before stacking LPs was heresy:
Hey man, remember these needles!! They'd plow through a record about 10 times and then the record would just split off into ribbons as the stylus of death cut it to shreds!:

I used to spend extra $3 to get the diamond needle because they gave cleaner sound. Man... How old are we? Your arm was crooked if you only got 10 plays. I used to get a couple of hundred before I'd go to change it and find a pile of dust.

Yeah but by then it's doing the Thomas Edison sizzle and crackle and you hear a faint "oh do dee oh doh" coming out of the speaker. Hey, I'm checking around a little before we talk. I want to have some options for you. I'll PM you here in a few minutes.

Oh you just hadda do dat...
*humming Winchester Cathedral softly...*
All vinyl has 2 layers. The first is required by some law somewhere to be the "WC" so when the needle rips the top layer open, you hear it sneaking into your Black Sabbath album...
Options are good. Very good. Free ones even better. LOL
I said the words "Pro Bono" at the courthouse the other day and 6 Lawyers passed out.

In the meantime, I just got off the phone with Rich and I have to confess, He is crazy.
Great guy, has a great knowledge of scoots. Now, I didn't say a WORKING knowledge... LOL It was kinda funny that he was surprised we have Wal-Marts here. I thought they were everywhere McDonalds are. Worldwide. Go climb Mt. Everest and there's a guy there asking if you want fries with that....
