Man there were tons of bikes out today!!!! AND a boatload of winter builds showed themselves today also! Lots and lots of restorations out man o man just like factory showroom condition! The only thing different from new was the miles on the clock,,, indistiguishable from new,,, it was good to see and hear,,, some were restorods so the exhausts were ,,,, mmmmm ,,, questionable as to legality,,,, got a short ride in as papas day rituals were scheduled,,,, funny you'd think that you can just do what you want when it's "your" day,,, too bad I sold the hotrod S4 could have won a few bux today,,, all the squids were out on mulholland hwy today with their toys at the rockstore,,, I used to live across the street from the place,,, I know that section of mulholland to the bullseye like the back of my hand

I hear you about the "Our Day" Borg. I only got a ride in because I have to work on Sunday mornings. The ride in and out is quite nice. Since it's only seventeen and a half miles it's a trifle short but a nice road with good curves and elevation changes. I also got in a quick run to Town to buy groceries on Rocket. My stepsons are home for the summer and need Coca-Cola twelve packs every other day.

There were bikes everywhere yesterday. Of course the fair weather riders are coming out dressed to the nines. There was a group of Kawi crotch rockets and they had helmets with a Kawi green brush or some damn thing on top. I'm sorry but they looked absurd. We went out yesterday for about an hour. We went on a ride through the country and then did some errands. We went to Wally World and got some 140 gear lube for the SYM, the bank, Winn Dixie, Walgreens. I installed a trunk I used to use on the Kawi. It's huge and you could just about fit a body in it. So we had it packed by the time we were done running around. A group of scooters came up to us at Wally World and wanted to know about the trunk. I've never seen that many scooters in our area before, they must be catching on, maybe because of gas prices. They were all Genuines from Magic City Scooters. They were nice looking machines. Anyhow, here's the trunk:
Yeah, that's a back rest and it is nice for the old thoracics. Rich

Yesterday morning, we were headed out to the mall and drove by the state fairgrounds. I saw a couple scoots pull out of there and made some smart-assed remark to the wife about how there must be a scooter convention in town and my invitation got lost in the mail. Later in the afternoon, I actually was granted furlough for an hour or so to go for a ride. Completely forgetting about the scooters I saw earlier in the day, I decided to take a cruise through the fairgrounds to see the progress being made on some renovations. Holy Smokes!!! I couldn't tell if it was a Shriner's convention, or some vintage scooter thing, but there were scooters EVERYWHERE! I'd bet there were 500 scooters in that place, half of them on the road. It was a true Vietnam-style scooter experience.
