no lack of power although when i start it it goes up to 3000 rpms and when warm drops to 1700 rpm. But when i first try to drive it it stalls out. I have to start it and rev it to about 5000 for a sec then im good.

there's no way the thing would run with that rich of a mixture,, Is the carb float needle good? Stuck open or the tip shot and not stopping flow?,,,, I find it hard to believe that it's even running,, that engine doesn't pump enough air to get that much fuel mixed so it'll burn I havnt taken off the carb to check it I suppose i will today though

Ok, revving up to 3000 rpms and then dropping down to 1700 it is to rich. Follow this procedure to adjust your carbs fuel mixture and take your time after every 1/4 WAIT about 10 seconds or so to allow the motor to catch up with the new setting. You are looking for the HIGHEST IDLE from the adjustment. BUT AFTER IT WARMS UP YOU DO THIS so let it idle for at least 5 minutes then adjust it.
