I was asked to promote this run, It has changed since the first version of three laps around the Salton Sea. This year it will start in San Diego, travel East over the mountains and down into the Imperial Valley to my old home town of El Centro the head north and go around the Salton Sea and head back up and over the mountains to Escondido. We are talking about a grueling run starting at near sea level going up over a 550 foot elevation then down into the desert two near 200 feet below sea level, then riding up over winding mountain roads back over the top and into the North County of San Diego. If you have the time and the guts this would be a ride, 320 miles or more. You will go from beach to mountains along interstate 8, much of it has the old highway to ride on, I've been over all these roads as a kid. Would be a great ride for the brave. You would need a solid scooter to make it with the hill climbing on the way back over the mountains. It would really change my take on the morpheous should some one place riding one. No doubt the scooter could do it but it would take a super iron butt to sit on one that long!
How fast were you going in the video? Looks to be maybe 35 or 40.

hahahha exactly,, , the only kind of persons who are worse than the "idiots" and "morons" are the people who spend $140,000 modifying cheap motorcycles, then sell them overseas, where one of his buyers complain of mechanical problems,,, oooooh thats what you call over-modification. its just so ironic that he can spend $140k on mods but he almost died haggle-ing on a beat up 2004 Vespa ET.. hahaha omg... cheapest breed of human there is , alive.....OH CYBORG! CYBORG! then he post pictures of his so called "Motorcycle Mods" then i found out later that he just copy paste it from a european motorcycle forum based in england. gosh!!
for all we know cyborg is just a jobless dude gate crashing a library to use computer to sign up on this forum.. oh Lordy!!!

1) Still waiting for a picture of the Morphous's odometer. Until then my $3000 Chinese fleet has more mileage than your $6000 scooter.
2) Still waiting for your list of qualifications to comment on things mechanical as per Rapid Jim (The Evil Drug Dealer. Isn't that what you called him?)
3) My spare bike in case of a total breakdown is a Honda Rebel, twice the machine of a Morphous at $3395 when I bought it. Go to the Honda Rebel forum and see how many will be used for thousand mile Tours this summer, not to mention Iron Butt rides.
4) Isn't it funny that no one has ever used a Morphous for the Cannonball Run across the Country? An SYM HD 200 won it four years ago and a 110cc Honda this year. Hmmmmmmm.

A big Amen on that. If they had scooter events like that here I'd be on it in a minute. The only scooter activity of note here is in NYC, 150 miles away. If I carried it in the Minivan, Rocket would be the ultimate weapon, but I'm not so inclined and I'm not so sure I could slip it by as a "Moped".

My question - Luke, how do you call a Morpheus a scooter - it Maryland it would be classified as a Motorcycle -
"Motor Scooter" means a non-pedal vehicle that: 1.Has a seat for the operator. 2.Has 2 wheels, of which one is 10 inches or more in diameter; 3.Has a step through chassis; 4.Has a motor, (i) With a rating of 2.7 brake horsepower or less; or (ii) If the motor is an internal combustion engine, with a capacity of 50 cubic centimeters piston displacement or less; and 5.Is equipped with an automatic transmission. "Motor Scooter" does not include a vehicle that has been manufactured for off road use, including a motorcycle and all terrain vehicles.
Note: For special or unusual circumstances, the work can be processed at any full service MVA office.
Motor scooters that are built for road use and have greater horsepower and cc's may be titled and registered as a motorcycle. Note: A person may not operate a motorcycle that has a rating of 1.5 brake horsepower or less or a capacity of less than 70 cubic centimeters piston displacement, on a roadway where the posted maximum speed is more than 50 miles per hour, or on an expressway or other controlled access highway.
