I am working on a 1988 Yamaha Riva CV50. Finding parts is next to impossible. Yamaha says the CV50 was made in 1988 yet the DOT sticker clearly states it is a 1988 model. It is a 50cc 2-stroke. The belt Monster sold me is the wrong size. I no longer have the original to measure so now I must figure what size it takes. Any of you have an idea? It is kind of a long case motor.

With out the old belt there is nothing to match. If there isn't anything in the library here you might search on line to see if you can find a service manual. Also as a last resort call scrappy dog and ask if they can help, They can probably suggest how to come up with a proper belt. Yamaha is bad on parts even for brand new stuff, I know from my own experiences so expecting any thing out of them for an 88 probably is not going to happen. Chinese parts on the other hand are easy to get and if you can cross the belt to chinese you will be good to go.

I am finding parts numbers but not dimensions. When I can find one for sale is it $50 or more.
