Yeah, that's me, it's called a Pott's fracture. A seemingly benign twist of the ankle translates up through the tibial malleolus and takes out the fibula. Almost brought my career to a screeching halt in 2012? I can't even remember now. I thought it would be a chuckle with the Doc theme but it's creeping me out.
But back to G Man. John, do you have to buy Yamaha parts for those things? No generics?

I just stepped on my shop vac hose and thought I just rolled my ankle over. I looked down and my foot was off at a 45 degree angle. I was at the ER 30 minutes later and an ortho I knew happened to be there. We looked at the X-ray and he said "boy did you f....k up". I said "really? where's the morphine and I need to be back to work in a month" He said "oh, then you want the 10 screw job!" Cute, I was back to work in three weeks on crutches.

No generics, a few exceptions can be cobled in though. No matter internet or stealer shop Yamaha is super slow for parts. You can get a wixs oil filter at your local auto parts store and comes with both orings, Yamaha is 8 days and you have to order the orings separate! And the wixs filter will be better quality.

You know not all them are that way though. I do object to paying 30% more for a part they do not even carry in stock. If they had it in stock I could maybe see it but no one carry's parts for yamaha scooters, even the internet dealers do not carry them, they all have to get your money first then order the part from yamaha usa hence the 8 day delivery.
And the part I really love is if I have a chinese scooter I call or internet order and 3 days later my part comes at 1/2 the shipping charges....of course the yamaha part has to be shipped twice so guess that's how come the shipping is so damn high! God I love middle men. The more the middle men the higher chance the order will be messed up too.
Had I waited for some one to stock the white chinese scooter I would be about $2000 ahead right now and I would have been able to ride all that summer I was cussing yamaha.

I'm very likely to pass on the Majesty for a couple of reasons. Still haven't even seen it yet, but 40k+ miles is extreme. Parts aren't too bad since the dealer here keeps a small supply as he's the only one on the island.
Honestly, I'd really rather you all just took up a collection and bought me a nice new Kymco 700. Then we could dispense with all these silly things. LOL

I'm casting the dissenting vote here Buy it. That amount is less than a Chinese 250 new, the Japanese build good stuff that lasts and lasts and if it runs it will probably give you your money's worth and more. If it was a car you wouldn't call 43,000 miles a lot. Why people hang that on bikes and scooters is beyond me. Do you have any idea how many Gold Wings, BMWs and other bikes are out there with waayyyy more than that. The only mistake the Japanese make occasionally is in styling that turns people off. Look at the Morphous. Mechanically sound and able to last a good long time if you can get past the bad looks and mediocre handling. The Majesty is much better looking and maneuverable than that. Buy it.

hahaha you should see one in person, anyway, we cant trust your taste in scooters, we are talking scoooters with class! how can you trust the taste of a person who rides a chinese scooter, uses all chinese products in his house and who goes to 99¢ and dollar store to buy canned goods and kitchen utensils. omg...no wonder he cant differentiate a solid scooter from a disposable one.
but yah, kymco is a reliable scoot

I almost fell off my Kawasaki laughing at it. It looks even worse in person than it does in pictures. The only thing missing was a giant hot dog bun and mustard. The Morphous is the only scooter I've ever seen that makes my Fashion look pretty. How can you trust someone who can't get a 50cc scooter to run around the block, buys the world's ugliest scooter and is so ashamed to be seen riding it that he puts it on a trailer and pulls it with an SUV with dark tinted windows. Can it be that you trailer it since you know it won't make it? Can it be that it's so terrible to ride you can't stand the pain (Your own words)? Oh yes, who can you trust for an opinion on a machine's integrity? Someone with almost 21,000 on his Chinese Fleet (Me) or someone who can't get 50 miles out of the China scooter he bought and couldn't prep it well enough to run? (Luke). I think my record is proof of what I know. The Morphous is proof of what Luke knows.

omg, 3day or 8day or 15day delivery doesnt matter you still get your parts. and its worth the wait. my goodness ...OK, let's put it this way. I ordered a Honda transmission shaft and a day later a Chinese transmission shaft. The Chinese shaft came 46 hours later, the Honda shaft came four days after that even with a days head start. I had the shaft in and was riding three hours later. If I waited for the Honda shaft I would have had to let the scooter sit. To those of us who like to ride, and I used it three of the days it took for the Honda part to arrive, it would have been painful letting nice days slip by. You see many of us can't ride all year round like you do, , and losing days to ride while we wait a week....or two.....or four, for a part is almost a sin.

I ride all year long weather permitting,,we do get a few weeks of crap weather here believe it or not and i still hate to wait,,,i keep my eye on ebay and stock pile wear out parts on the cheap ,,,i rode yamaha for years and when i was younger i was pretty brand loyal and they did take an inordinate amount of time to get parts,,,and not to single yam out all the big four were a pain in the left nut to get anything in,, thank the stars for ebay,,i grew up about 100 miles from where you live KZ and i know you don't want to waste any good riding days at all,,cause not only do you have to deal with winter but there's quite a few rain days (read biblical deluge flood ) as well,,,so the you have even less days than you think,,,youre just all so happy that it's not 20 below and 16 foot of snow on the ground that you may be delirious
