Rode the Majesty yesterday. Not going to buy it. The steering is soft, back end is so tight it almost refuses to lean correctly. Muffler needs replacement. Motor runs rough.
Too many things that are wrong with it.

you should have haggled , say $800??,, those little issue can be fixed with TLC,,,unlike the chinese scoot, however maintenance you do, it stilll bog down because the materials used is same as materials used to do kitchen pots and pans. very disposable!!

Hey Luke. How come all the Yamahas we hear about wear out so soon or is this another Yamaha that wasn't maintained? Isn't it strange that you have the only one that runs "Perfectly"? Hmmmm. I'm so glad Rocket is a Honda clone.

What have I been saying all along? A touring majesty is an oxymoron. They ride like snit with all that engine weight tied to the rear wheel. Some thing about all that unsprung weight! My chev malibu has less unsprung weight on any one of its 4 shocks.(struts) The only way a majesty is going to ride smoother in the rear is to install a 1940's farm tractor seat with its own spring. ' 'The engine/transmission weighs well in excess of 250lbs, that and the actual rear wheel have to move off a bump before any comfort can happen. a rear wheel with out the damn motor on it can easily rebound off a bump but not with that much weight attacted to it. The morpheous engine/trans is almost as heavy and I don't see how it could have a decent ride either.
A frame mounted engine with std swing arm has little unsprung weight and there is a world of difference in the ride. The smaller scooters are going to ride pretty decent as they do not have the excessive weight hanging there.

The entire Rebel, fueled, doesn't even weigh that much. No wonder they wear out. What does the entire scooter weigh in at? Wait. I got it 467 pounds. Pheww. My 650 Kawasaki only weighed 450. Add in gas and oil and you're looking at 500 pounds.

I tried a simple cone weave with it and the thing fought me tooth and nail the entire course. And forget about a feet up U-turn on it in anything less than 30'

Wow! I did all those maneuvers with ease on my 650 Kawasaki when I took the MSF Experienced Rider Course. I guess there's a lot to be said for light, unsprung weight.
