gy6 50cc starting good, idle a little eratic but when you throttle it falls on it's face. started with the simple things. air and fuel filter good. has 1800 miles on it so checked valve adjustment and it was right on. so before I went any deeper decided to change the fuel. fresh fuel did the trick. thing is the old fuel was only 3 weeks old. guess I'll start using fuel stabilizer routinely. went to do some yard work and dang if I had the same problem with the weed eater. fuel just shouldn't go stale that quikly but if that is what it takes I'll just buy less at a time and use the stabilizer. seems like the quality of everything is in the toilet anymore

Depends on the fuel your using. Try using ethanol free fuel. Its a little expensive and harder to find. Also seafoam additive is amazing and works well with scooters! Everyone will recommend it.

I doubt very much that is the case, I believe most scooter owners go to the UNKNOWN CHEAP GAS statiosn to get their gas and there lies the problem. Go to you well know brand gas stations and you will not run into bad gas problems. Hear this crap all the time instead of paying a dime or so more for a gallon of gas they play the nickel and dime and in the end for that nickel or dime they would not have any issues. BLUNT BUT TRUE see it all the time. Alleyoop

Yep I use SHELL been using it FOR DECADES and not one single and I mean single fuel problem. I know some of this guys are penny poor but it will cost them more if they keep on putting the cheapest crap they can find. And let me say this JUST ABOUT EVERY GAS STATION you will read that NO MATTER WHICH GRADE you put in it has UP TO 10% ETHANOL and by LAW THEY HAVE TO PUBLISH IT even the SHELL GAS I USE so this ETHANOL BULLCRAP is just that, NOT AN EXCUSE, I MAY HAVE BEEN BORN LATE BUT NOT YESTERDAY. The only reason for any one with a chinese scooter to use premium is that they do not have alcohol in that particular stations premium. Premium you pay more and get less energy.

I wouldn't get all sweaty about it. As someone just said a cap full of Seafoam or a fuel system cleaner will help fight the "crud in the fuel" syndrome.
Everyone sites ethanol as the culprit but many times it's the gas station. Years before ethanol I worked in a gas station and every month they pumped the tanks bottom. Watery sludge came out of all of them. Now stations are convenience stores and all people do is take your money while you pump your own. I'm guessing the neglect in maintenance is horrific. The brand names probably take better care than "Pump and Shop" brand.
I'm just glad to hear your Gorilla is running better.

If the fuel truck is at the station don't get gas, it stirs up the crap in their tank. When I get gas I try to find a station with dedicated fuel nozzles for each grade of gas. When the station doesn't have those, I look for someone using premium fuel and wait for them to finish so I can use that line. When you pull up and get gas, you are getting some of whatever lower grade fuel the person before you used... Being as my scooter holds 1.4 gallons, even a small amount of regular, is a lot in my tank...
