Ordered this a week ago and it arrived today. You can change the backlight colour by a press of a button. The first 7 pics I took with it roughly sitting in place so don't mind my work lol. The vinyl work I did is alittle rough in some parts (last pic) and will fix tomorrow when theres sunlight... garage light blew out

Same here lol. The only thing that got me was getting the rpm to work.. it came with no instructions so I had a look at the wires that plug into the CDI and found a red/white wire and the speedo has a red/white wire.. extended the wire and wired them together and works like a charm

Yeah I love the vinyl wrap, I don't know whether to leave it the carbon fibre look or add a touch of gold vinyl wrap to it..

The red/white is the trigger impulse into the CDI on many configs. It's low voltage and removed from the high voltage interference that can come from the ignition coil input (yellow/black) or wrapping the plug wire with an induction coil. You may have noticed the R/W is the input into the RPM aspect of the unit but you also have a black DC power feed that provides illumination and functionality. What gives you the MPH input?

My previous digital speedo had a yellow/black wire which i wrapped around the coil for the pickup and for it to pickup the speed, uses standard speedo cable I found this thread using photobucket when I viewed your paint job on your new scoot... I need help. When I clicked on your photos (to see the full size)it took me to photobucket as I was viewing your photos I came across your picture of this speedometer cluster... I recently purchased the exact same speedo off of ebay but it didn't come with any instructions or wiring diagrams. This image has been reduced by 25%. Click to view full size. Will you help me with the wires and tell me what they go to? I have about half them figured out...... but a couple of them I'm lost....These are the colors I have and what I have figured out so far RED .........................................(12v+ Keyed on) Light Blue .................................(r turn) Yellow w/white stripe Green .......................................(ground) Orange .....................................(L turn) Green w/Yellow stripe Brown w/black strip Blue .........................................(high beam) Red with white stripe................(for pulse coil/tach pick up) Please correct any that I have wrong and fill in the ones I can't figure out yet! Thanks a million! Read more: scooterdoc.proboards.com/thread/10289/scoot#ixzz3JA1Tc2WV

Honestly i cant really remember as its been a while. Id have to pull the front end off the scooter to have a look and im not really too keen on doing that as the front end is a bitch to remove. If i can remember correctly, the yellow/white stripe wire and the green/yellow stripe is used for the fuel guage.. also that brown/black stripe wire is also used with the fuel gauge as well (i think) because my outlaw does have a 3plug wire for the fuel gauge when it had the original dash in it

I believe some of them use a magnet on the front Wheel and a stationary hall sensor to get the speed. Then you input the circumfrence of the wheel to calibrate the speeds. Could even glue a magnet to inner of brake disk.

Could even glue a magnet to inner of brake disk. Yes, but this one is not like that. It just has a mechanical hookup....You program your rim size into the cluster. This is turning out to be a very frustrating purchase... I specifically asked the seller before I purchased if they included a wiring diagram and they said yes. And to make matters worst, the seller is Chinese and doesn't speak English... When the seller finally replied he listed descriptions for 10 wires, it only has 9... In addition, one of the wires he listed as the door lock... What kind of motorcycle/scoot has frickin doors? To top it off, the one person I find that has one installed doesn't remember how it's hooked up.....
