Wow...rim size might not even be close to giving the right speeds. One thing i noticed some on ebay don't even have speed read out in mph. Thats about as useful as tits on a boar hog! If you could input circumference in inches or even cm. you could adust the size to make km equil mph.

I was actually going to pull the front end off and have a look today for you but i wont worry about it now. I have 8 scooters in total and im working on 4 of them atm. My outlaw scooter was in an accident 2months ago and i havent riden it since as i need to do frame work on it. I have other problems to worry about than remembering how i wired up the dash to it, i tried helping you best i could.. if you cant respect that then piss off mate

What on Earth are you talking about? I didn't purchase the odometer from you, the rant was about the person I bought it from, not you.

You are the sole person on 4 scooter forums, that I have seen has this identical instrument cluster. So, when I came across this thread, I was excited I may have found someone who could help, and then you said you didn't remember how it is what hooked up.... Okay, fine... You don't remember...I'm not mad and didn't think I said anything offensive....

I know the rant wasnt towards me.. because i had the same problem with the seller of that dash, its the last part of your reply im reffering to. Remebering how i wired up such a thing aint easy for me as wires are my weak points and frustrates the hell out of me. Im sorry about taking that last part the wrong way because to me it sounded like you were having a go in a way. Its hard for me to look at the outlaw scooter and touch it in the state its in from the arshole that reversed into it with his tank of a jeep.

I pulled the outlaw apart and all your wires so far are correct... the yellow/white stripe wire and the green/yellow stripe is used for the fuel float for the digital gauge to work.. im not sure about your scooter but mine mine has 3 wires and i had to wire an earth to it for it to work properly otherwise the gauge goes nuts

Ther's a few sellers offering the exact same speedometer. This is one I purchased from..... Please read the entire auction, the seller seems to be on the ball and ready to offer up advice, problem is, he doesn't know how it wires up himself....

Take note: In the auction, he list line function (wiring pinout) with only 8 wires, the plug actually has 9 wires. During our messages, he tells the function of 10 wires....

Red: the battery positive electrode electric door lock in here (always have electricone)

Brown / Black: electric door lock control closing anode (positive control switch)

Green: negative

Yellow / White: oil quantity indicator

Blue: the right direction indicator

Orange: the left direction indicator

Blue: high beam indicator

The black / yellow: engine speed the engine trigger coil (also known as the pulse coil)

I need information. What is speed signal line contact (red and white)? The speedometer is fed signal by mechanical cable, not digital. This speedometer you mailed does not have a yellow black wire.

Some motorcycle have twin coil, in such motorcycles the red white wire is the secondary pulse coil trigger. Could it be that red and white is not speed signal line, but rather the pulse coil trigger?

Again, there is no yellow black pulse coil trigger wire.

I think I figured out one more wire..... The yellow w/white stripe I think goes to the the fuel sender... Thanks dazza!!!

Now, I just need to figure out the Yellow w/green stripe which is i think is for an oil sender that my scoot doesn't have (may need to figure out how to terminate or find the sender.

And the the Brown w/Black stripe ... Can't figure out what this one goes to either....

Actually, I may have just figured one more out.... The Yellow/Green... That's the same color that goes to the starter relay.....

Perhaps the Brown/Black is actually the oil indicator.....

Some of the wire colours have completely faded and i cant make out what some of them are lol.. bloody brake fluid leaking from the accident. Here are some instructions i was sent from the seller.

Setting:

There are two buttons, MODE (above button) and ADJ (below button), two buttons can be set when the motorcycle was on Non-running state.

ODO and TRIP switch: short press MODE button can enter ODO and TRIP.

TRIP zero clearing: short press MODE button, enter TRIP, then long press ADJ button.

Kilometer and Mile switch: short press MODE button, enter ODO, then long press ADJ button to select.

Tire size adjustment: short press MODE enter ODO, at ODO mode press the ADJ button, meanwhile press MODE button, press these two buttons at the same time for 3 seconds, then loosen two buttons, immediately long press MODE button, it will go into tire size adjustment, it will display LC000.

Time adjustment: short press MODE button enter ODO, at ODO mode long press MODE button, enter time adjustment, short press MODE button to select HOUR and MINUTE, then short press ADJ button to set the HOUR and MINUTE in slow speed(+1) or long press ADJ button to set the HOUR and MINUTE in quick speed.

NOTE: every button operation time must within 5 seconds, it will automatic out of current mode if more than 5 seconds when operating.

The oil indicator lamp will light on every 1000KM, if want to turn off this function, at ODO mode long press ADJ button, you can turn off the indicator lamp.

I have been wondering how I'm going to deal with that oil indicator.

I wish I could find what this speedometer is cloned after and what it originally went on. All these digital chinese speedometers are generic copies of an actual name brand part. If I could find the original, I could find the wiring diagram....

This speedometer could be for a 2 or 4 cylinder motorcycle for all I know... If that's the case, the tach will never work with my single cylinder scoot I don't think.

By the way, did you actually get all the functions working on your speedometer?

The tacho does work, you have to join the red/w stripe wire to the red/w wire that joins to the CDI unit for it to work... you may have to extend the length of that wire to reach where the CDI is. Dont worry about that oil light wire, its no use.. well for me anyways so i didnt bother with it

To understand the broken english must be an art. The speedo just might be a real nice one if it had understandable instructions.

That guy must be using a translator page. I tried one of those pages years ago and put in a phrase then changed it to one language, then to another, then back to english. It did not even resemble what I sent in the first place!
