Do not buy Exxon/Mobil Fuel. They also make Chevron and sell to Rally and Racetrack. They have been selling bad fuel for several months and it has a gum like material in it causing catastrophic engine damage due to sticking valves. I have got it twice now in the last 2 months and had to do fuel tank, lines, and engine flush with SeaFoam. You have been warned and make sure you are keeping your receipts incase you blow your engine. Lawyers will be standing by soon as the consumer reports are piling up fast.

I don't know how they do fuel where you live but around here the same trucks (unmarked) deliver to all of the stations but a few. There is absolutely no way to know who made the fuel. Almost all of the various brand stations here are owned by the same group. I think even shell comes in a generic truck. The truck goes from one to another station if the first one only needs regular and empties one of the trucks tanks then he goes some where around the corner or other side of town. As far as I know and as much as I do not want to believe it most of the gas comes from the lowest priced supplier.

Chevron is almost all we have in Hawaii. Doesn't matter here anyway. We do not get gas shipped in, we get crude and we have our own refinery that makes all the fuel in the state. So, it doesn't matter where you get it from here. It's all the same gas.

I agree with jct842. In Milwaukee I worked across the street from the fuel depot and witnessed it. Even the E10 came out of the same storage tank into generic trucks. Also such internet boycotts have always been a failure. I just make sure I buy at busy places, no matter the brand.

Gasoline is piped all over the country in a common pipeline. Certain local terminals may add additives to the gasoline but it is essentially all the same within seasonal specifications. Your local jobber may be screwing things up.

It even could be just the one station. We had one exon around here that 20 years ago was closed for a month or two while they lined the inside of the tank. Fast forward to around 5-6 years ago When they put crapahol in the tank and tons of people started having problems. The alcohol was dissolving the tank liner. They pumped it out and put regular gas in it and I used to get my real gas there until the station was sold to a unethical party.

All we have is an EXXON and Chevron here. O buy the unbranded non ethenol anyway.

Speaking of all those stupid boycots every one of them must have been started by someone with a IQ of around 49. One was don't buy gas on thursdays or another day of the week. Don't buy gas from exon, might just be that exon gas is in all of the stations tanks in the area.
