Hi Guys,Recently changed the head,piston,barrel on my 50cc jog engine. the problem i have is i can't seem to get the bike running and to idle but then i do it will run for about 20-30 seconds then die i have messes around with the mix screw and air screw and nothing seems to work.i have put my hand over the carb and it runs alittle longer but still dies? i have a race pipe on and no airbox ( not brought one yet ) do you have to up jet the carb if you run a race pipe? standard 50cc no mods except exhaust.

Without an airbox you would be getting too much air, so you would have to either up jet or adjust the air screw. If the change in air is drastic you have no choice but to up jet. Does it run WOT?

If it's all stock there's no way it will run without an airbox. You've got to get some resistance on there, the CV carb won't operate without it. And yes, Plant is right, your mixture is off the scale and I doubt you could upjet enough. At least put a uni on there. Come on Gov, get a filter on there!

At least put a sock on it, but not a dirty sock it has to be tide cleaned
