Hi Guys, Ordered a new Viking PST150-8 from Jim at Rapid Repair and was told today it would be shipping out tomorrow. I had the PDI done by Ice Bear so I would get the full warranty. So it should be here early next week. Is there anything I should double check on the trike before I ride it? I already know a few things I will be doing to it after it's broken in. Such as 115 variator. Any brand preferences? 11-12 gram sliders. New taller less hard rear tires. Looking for tread that will work in wet and snow. Should the front tire also be replaced? Doesn't look like there is enough space for a wider front tire but how about a taller one? Anything else I should think of? Thanks, billtrek

You still need to break it in. Ride it at varying speeds not hitting Wide Open Throttle (WOT) at all for the first 25 miles. Then change the oil. Same thing again but ride it a little closer to WOT this time and change oil at 100 miles. Last one, ride it normally and change oil at 200 miles. After that oil changes about every 1000 miles.
What brand or kind of oil you use really doesn't matter to a point. So, if you want to use Royal Purple, or just some Wal-Mart Dino blend, it's your choice. I personally like the synthetics in my bike.
As far as making mods to the bike, I say don't change a thing for the first 3 months unless you have to. Let it settle in first.

Congrats on the purchase, they are fun little buggers. Do a thorough inspection upon delivery, sh*t can happen in transit. Make sure the shipper notates any damage, and take pics. Jim at Rapid Repair will handle any warranty claims for you. Great guy. As for break-in, I decided to go this route: www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htmHave had no issues, trike runs strong, no oil burning etc. Have fun! Edit: Woops, just noticed that your post was 2 weeks ago so I'm guessing that trike has already arrived. How you like it?

I think maybe it did not get out the week of Oct 2nd and then due to the holiday it will probably arrive this week or next. Don't forget it is coming from CA usually by train then a Trucking Delivery near his home has to pick it up and then arrange a delivery date to his house. Alleyoop

I got an email from him, he got it yesterday. There was a bit of delay on getting the pallet at Ice Bear and then shipping delays, what a bummer, but he has it and has had the MCO from me for a couple days.

FWIW, when my trike arrived, both mirrors were broken. I contacted Jim at Rapid and he sent me two mirrors (on his own dime, better mirrors than came on the trike, and he paid for overnight shipping)so I could ride it right away. There were also a few other issues,,,,,,to be expected on a Chinese-made vehicle,,,,,,,,that Jim took care of immediately for me. First thing billtrek, is get rid of the horrible,tiny-chrome air filter. It's useless and smothers the engine so it won't run above 20mph. Tom

You need to put the pictures into an online program such as Photobucket.com or Tinypics and then link to them from there. Some where there's a tutorial on here to tell you how to use them. I would love to see them.

As far as tire air is concerned look on the tire and see the MAX air and put 10% LESS. Alleyoop

I figured out photobucket. The rear tires say 30lbs max and the front says 32lbs max. What weight oil should i use? The book says 15-40 weight. Is that right? How about the tranny oil? What about the dif grease should i use honda moly or something else? I see what you mean about the air filter.

I use 10W40 oil, amsoil gear oil in the tranny and regular chassis grease for the rear diff.
Great Pictures
