Hi everyone ! Happy fall I hope it lasts a while as Im not looking forward to SNOW ugh dirty word lol. Anyway, I hadent started my scoot in 2 mounths , yeah I know BOOOOOO on me. IT cranked and putted then nothing after a few times trying to crank it up. SOOOOO , out comes the tools , drained the carb bowl again still no start. Take the ENRICHER assy out shoot gumcutter in the teeny tiny holes, put the darn thing back together, Crank VROOM starts right up and does what its supposed to.
Moral of the story is !!!! It dosn't matter if you have a tank of high test gas with a load of seafoam in it, them darn ENRICHER passages are going to clog !!!.
so for the winter, suck out the gas run it dry and DRAIN THE CARBURETOR BOWL !!!! Poppajon.

I'll say this again, the difference between hi-test and other grades is spark retardant that keeps the gas from pre-igniting under high compression ratios. Other than that it is the same as regular with the same additives. Actually, it is not the same come to think of it....it has less energy per volume measure than regular. It's just that the spark retardants allow the high compression engine to harvest the available energy providing more power than the low compression engine. Premium gasoline is a myth, if you are not running a high compression engine you are not only wasting money but losing power.

The old "if it costs more it must be better syndrome"
I used to talk a couple times a week to a friend who was a retired engineer for mobile and he said the same thing, "premium is to keep high compression engines from knocking or pinging" and has less energy.
