Yes it could have been much worse,,, a stout bike and a hard head with a helmet saved the day,,, take it easy for a couple days

Yeah man, you dodged a bullet. That's a heartbreaker to a nice looking bike but you did ride it home. It could have been much worse than some road rash, glad you're OK. Get it fixed and keep riding, well when the icebox thaws I mean. Rich

Had almost the same thing happen to me the same day! I pulled into the lane and a Taxi tried to push me out. He pulled out of a parking structure even though he saw me coming. Did not crash, but I felt like kicking a hole in his cage.

I understand where you are coming from , I have been knocked off and helmet slammed the pavement . How did it happen ? How can we avoid what happened to you ?

Hi guys ( and Gals) . I'm still bruised up good on my right side and will be for a while. Primarily on the right hip and upper thigh . The road rash on my right arm is what hurts the most at the moment. That will take abit longer to heal up. I now have matching road rash to go with my right knee that I got 18 years ago in a minor motorcycle accident . That accident I put down the bike while turning onto a road. The intersection had loose gravel and my wheels went out from underneath me ! My advice is watch and double check where your turning so you don't run into someone like I did Thursday ! Someone might be there that you don't expect them to be. willc.

dont be lazy and don't expect people to not be there where they could be, i think people are off road and on the wrong side of the road all the time. i was delivering and was tired from working too much and done a turn without looking, cuase i thought it was clear. after i done the turn, i was like, what am i doing? i knew i was too tired to keep doing it, then. too much thinking and just turning after turning so many times, and being tired.
i expect people on the wrong side of the road. and dont be lazy, stop if you got too. not the best idea but at least peopel, might stop behind you. depeending how, lazy or much you ache.

Lesson learned : always no matter what check your blind spots when turning even when you think there will be no vehicles there. There might just be !! Arm still hurts as does the hip abit. It may be a week or more till my body stop's giving me a reminder about what I did to it last week ! willc.
