I have halogen headlight bulbs on my 150 gy6 scooter they work great ,but I've noticed at lower rpms my voltage gage drops below 9volts but only at a idle or low rpm, so far this hasn't been a problem but as the days get shorter and I'm using the headlights more I was wondering if there might be a solution by upgrading the stator output.has any one came across this before or I'm I making a problem that does not exist, so far the battery has been fine cracks the motor over just fine .I'm just concerned I don't want to be out there some where and can't get home because the scooter won't start because the battery is dead.any help would be great.

you might be able to trim that down a little depending what you have in your scooter .

If it's the 11 coil here's a link to a thread. It really is a powerhouse of a stator. You need a three phase R/R though but you can use an AC CDI because it has a magneto coil with a red/black wire. But you can use a DC CDI and just cap off the red/black. I see it is the 11 coil, also, the R/R is included. I'm not just saying this because John is a friend of mine but the parts he has sold me are heavier and higher quality than the run of the mill discount stuff out there. You can go super cheap and things tend to roast and break. John also stands behind his stuff and offers technical support. He is an electrician by trade and quite knowledgeable. I buy from him and I'm a PITA. Rich

The problem with going led is it is easy to get out of balance between ac and dc load (with a 6 or 8 coil system) . It kinda depends on how bad you want the extra power . What I tell most if you can wire a stereo with an amp you will have no problem . John
