Is it true that a fully charged battery will not freeze? My Roketa MC-257B sets in my catport and we have some COLD below 25 deg. weather here in Arkansas. Also if I keep a trickel charger on it all the time will that keep it from freezing? Thanks.

Right on the freezing, they will not freeze if charged same as with a car. depending on your individual battery a trickle charger can ruin it. The newer type agm battery or what ever they call it needs a smart charger. a standard charger will over charge it and being sealed and all they get pissed. A good battery just needs almost nothing unless there is some thing discharging it. Most people would like to say they start the scooter up every couple weeks and run it for a while to keep every working. When it is cold I either do that or stick a trickle charge on it for a day and then take it off. The battery in my majesty is either original equip going on 8 years or could be 5 years old, any way I have never even had it out of the battery box since I bought the scooter in 2010.

John I think your trick of removing the trickle charger after a day is what is keeping it from damage . I left a tender on mine over the winter when the weather broke the battery was toast . I enjoy reading your posts all the good info is there just have to be able to pick it out . I'm sure others reading this here would have skipped right past the important detail . John

Use Battery Tender Junior, I have used the same one for years in all climate conditions with bike and car batteries. It has never trashed a batery and has always kept them perfectly topped off. I rotate one tender around on my batteries and leave it on each for a week and then swap. It is perfection.

This is true but I have seen it below zero here once in a while. A really cold night here is 10 degrees and that's rare. It's getting down to 25 here tonight but the low Sunday is 50.
