Those are usually a maintenance a time light to change the oil or some oil level is low. You have to reset them to have them turn off just like in your cars idiot lights I call them. Alleyoop

I have a brake light indicator on my 150. It's a red "P" with light rays around it for parking brake, but I don't have a parking brake, and it comes on anytime I hit the brakes. Perhaps my bike was designed for Thailand, the Thai word for brake is phanh.

Yep, it's a "brake" light. My Taotao "EVO" 150cc has a panel just like that, and every time you hit the brake (front OR rear) that lights up. I guess someone somewhere in the Orient wasn't sure if they were braking or not! Actually, it comes in handy because if your switch goes out (like mine did) the red light will NOT come on, letting you know that you're not showing a brake light.

It would probably fail to illuminate if your stop light bulb was shot too. Every scooter has turn signal indicators... why not a stop light indicator...sounds like a good idea to me.

I'm with Alley on this one,,,that's the oil pressure indicator,,,you are either low on oil or there is something wrong with delivery of oil to the engine,,,screen /filter plugged,,,,

brunop39, Alleyoop, jerryscript, jomama0867, rks, cyborg I have the little red light on my scooter too, with what looks like a outline of a cell phone next to it.it blinks all the time it got so annoying at night I blacked it out. it doesn't seem to have anything to do with the oil or brakes, a friend said maybe it told you when you were in in-range of a cell tower.maybe you need to know that in china but to me it was just annoying.anyway it's been blinking like that for two years so it must not be that important.not to say your red light is not important it may very well be.still I would like to know just what it's for.

A lot of them if it does not have anykind of symbol next to it they are usually Maintenance reminders to change your oil. They are set to come on after certain miles are on the scoot just like most cars. You have to reset them to turn off the light.

It is supposed to tell you when you have an incoming call. They do go off if someone close to your scooter, (a passing car, someone on the sidewalk, etc) is using a cell phone. If yours is lit all of the time, and it bugs you, just pull the wire.

That one has a symbol of a telphone so yes that tells you when there is a incoming call, and the reason is due to the noise level you would not hear the phone ringing so the put in a light.
