I have a zen 250 Roar, Its ridable but would like to find some place that would do work on it. h\Have some starting issues and a few little things that I would like to have looked at in the Spring would be willing to trailer it up tp 100 mi. Any suggetions out there

Closest is Jims RAPIDREPAIR that I know of but that is over 200 miles from you right across from greenbay
in milltown.

Yea 4 hours drive but we know Jim knows his stuff the others are a shot in the dark. Remember there are not to many good scooter mechanics out there. Most are good for is replacing parts and hoping they hit and fix the problem. Also a lot of them cause more problems after whatever they did to it.

The first two I listed have excellent reputations and jethro asked for leads within 100 miles. Jim's is 300+ from him, close to 400 for me. Milwaukee and Madison are just over 100 and there are large dealers there as well.
When it is time for me to order Jim will be on my list. I will ask for help from him but not to do actual repairs. The price of transport is too high. It would take a full day just to deliver and another to go pick it up. Or have it crated and shipped.
Simple math. It would cost me $200 in gas alone.

Jims must be a pretty good place to go, alley oop drove there from some where near the bottom of chicago to get his trike worked on!

Lots of " mechanics" out there not a whole bunch of people that actually know how to build a sound engine,,,,

That is correct Cy, Jim was the only one that would bore out my motor. I called many shops IN ILLINOIS not a one would bore the case out. They were willing to sell me a smaller BBK that would not require boring the case but that is all.

But the gentleman wasn't asking for 'custom' work nor am I. I to traveled far for such 'custom' work on my VWs.
