My GY6 150 starts with the enricher but when the enricher turns off the engine dies. I have tried adjusting the idle. I also have tried to rev it up when the enricher turns off but it bogs down.

Look in the library here for the instructions on how to correctly adjust your carb. After you get that done, let us know if it's better.

is the bike new? or older and been sitting around awhile?,,,if its older i'd wager a guess the carb is a little gummed up with varnish and a couple of the jets and /or ports are plugged

My carb does not have a screw for the air mixture. It appears to be a brass plug that's smooth. I seen somewhere that a man took a dremel and made a slot for a flat tip screwdriver do you suggest doing that?

thats a cap pressed into the bore,,,take a small drill and pierce the cap and get a screw in the hole and pop that cap out to gain access to the mixture screw,,,i would pull the carb to do this process and while its off take the bowl off of the carb and check for dirt ,,,you may find some

The bike is one year old. I have 5,000 miles on it. I ride it regularly. I have adjusted the valves on it twice. I took the carb off and am in the process of cleaning it. I did I found some gummy substance in the bottom of the bowl but the jets were clean.

Definitely pull that brass cap, like cyborg said it's very easy, just pierce with a drill and use a screw to pull it out. This exposes your air/fuel mixture screw, which will allow you to tune your carb. During the winter, you'll usually need that screw turned out 1/4-3/4 turns compared to the summer (cold air is denser, so the perfect ratio needs more fuel in the winter). I had been told this by Alleyoop in the forums when I was installing my first BBK and jetting the carb to match a couple of years ago, and it was proved to be true a month later when the temps dropped. I had jetted too rich without realizing it, and all of a sudden I had more power throughout the engine's range. Point I'm trying to make is that being able to adjust the air/fuel mixture screw makes a huge difference in your engine's performance. It takes a few times to get it down, but follow Alleyoop's 4TS tuning guide, and you'll be grinning ear-to-ear when you ride!

<b>"i'd wager a guess the carb is a little gummed up with varnish and a couple of the jets and /or ports are plugged"</b><br>Let me know when you are wagering again as I will second the wager. I took off the carb, cleaned it and reported back that the jets were clean. I reinstalled and no change in performance... I then took another look at the thread in bold print above and realized that I made sure the ports, the holes in the side, were clean but didn't insure the hole down the center was. I took the carb off the second time and removed the jets. I put them up to the light and could see only darkness from the center. I cleaned until each jet emitted light looking down the center. I put the carb back together and reinstalled it. <b>Thanks to your guidance, the scooter runs better now than ever. Thank you</b>
