this is a multiple problem thread... all pretty min or .. i think.. but would like some feedback
mp3 player... are there any substitutes or *useful* mp3 bluetooth units that can be put on the scooter in place of the piece of junk that it comes with?
gear oil... i changed the gear oil.. as best i could.. based on honda pics that matched what was under my cover... it bled out ok.. i tried to put some in without a squezee bottle... i know i got some in.. as it over flowed... tightened things up.. put the cover back on... (that was a nightmare... thats a different problem for another posting) fine.. looked ok for a day or two then i noticed leakage on the ground.. not good.. engine runs ok.. there doesn't seem to be any damage to the gear?... as it funs sweet at 50mph.. but a tad rough up to 35 or so... nothing bad.. but just not sweet... any ideas?
temp gauge ... its getting a bit warm in arizona... and for a day or two the gauge was at HIGH... even for short hops.. 1.5 miles or so... i added coolant.. burped it per instructions i found here... let it run on stand.. added more .. . it seemed to work ok... now the gauge can get hot.. at a stop light... but cools down quickly 15 seconds later after i take off... is this possible.. to go from HIGH.. to medium temp on the gauge.. in such a short time.. really 15-20 seconds
im baffled

For the temp problem It appears your fan is not coming on when the temp climbs otherwise that would not happen when you come to a stop and no air is being blown over the motor and radiator.
As for the leak where is it leaking from the DRAIN plug or from the side plate. If from the side plate make sure the cvt cover bolts are nice and tight that also helps seal the tranny plate.
Cheap radios can be gotten on ebay they work pretty good and come with everything you need. They even take a SD card mine does and I paid like 35 bucks and it works great. Alleyoop

Question about refilling the gear case...Duke 250....do you refill it through the drain hole?
I believe...not certain though...the Honda manual says to remove the bolt above the fill hole and fill it till it comes out that removed bolt above the drain hole.
I've replace the gear oil before...but for the life of me...I can't remember what the correct process is...lol.

After draining it, put the drain plug back in and open the fill hole above it. Add till it starts to overflow out of the hole. Plug the hole and you're good to go.

for the radio mp3 player id like to use the existing wiring gizmo connector... and the existing speakers... though i doubt they are any better than the mp3 radio

After draining it, put the drain plug back in and open the fill hole above it. Add till it starts to overflow out of the hole. Plug the hole and you're good to go. To the person you are talking to: If you're like me, you may wonder when it's overfilled. When it's not full, it will dribble out a little and stop. When it's good and overfilled it will pour out and keep going for a few seconds or more. Then you know it's really full.
