WOW. 

I was re-reading the Seafoam can the other day and noticed it can be added to your engine oil.  Sooo.... Yesterday I checked my oil. (Started it up and went around the parking lot a couple of times first.)  It looked almost like new.  I could've put another thousand miles on it with no worries.  Then I added the Seafoam according to the destructions on the can.  Today when I changed my oil it was blacker than an evil night and slightly gritty.  WOW.

So, now I'm having lunch and I'll go for a short spin to see how she runs afterwards.  But man...  I haven't seen my oil that black in ... I can't recall when.  I know it cleaned out something.  I'll be finding out and letting you know how it runs. 

Just needed to share that.

Anyone else have these kinds of results?

I've only used it in my gas,,,never tried it in the oil,,,,it must have dissolved some deposits that's for sure

Yes I have used it in my oil for a short period before changing the oil. Yes it did remove some kind of deposit. I've only used it in my lawn mower, snowblower, '96 Honda VF750C and '88 Dakota PU. I don't leave it in very long or run them hard.

Just so it doesn't wash out under the rings and then loose compression. john

jct, My thoughts exactly. That's why I was careful not to add it until the day before I changed the oil.

But now...??

Normally when I'm ripped off, I call the Cops. And when someone messes with my bike, my first thought is to find'em and grind'em. But I think in this case I'll let them get away with it.

Someone stole the engine off my bike and replaced it with a new mill. Can't mistake that new engine smoothness. I won't do the Seafoam again for a while, but man o man.... a difference that made me actually look down to verify it was my engine still on there. Amazing.  The power and smoothness is just stunning.  It's like someone put a new engine on it.  Incredible.

So, I can highly recommend you try it on your bike, especially if you have a high mileage one.  But be careful you follow destructions so you don't dissolve away something important.  And only leave it in for one day's worth of casual use.

EDIT:
One other thing it did that had me guessing for a few minutes.  The lifter knock is gone.  Totally.  I was trying to figure out what else was different besides the power and smoothness when I suddenly realized I couldn't hear the lifter knock anymore.

I also added Lucas Oil Treatment to it this time.  I haven't done that before.

I think I love this stuff.  Very seldom do I find a product that works the way it says.  This is one of those rare times.

I don't believe in mechanic in a can, but I will tell you I firmly believe in Seafoam, have been using it since 1992 and the stuff works great. I have written and responded to many post over the years about seafoam. Great stuff, esp as a preventive maintenance to keep your small jets clean.

I don't beleive in Mechanic in a can either, just pun fun.
With the 150 not having a oil filter I don't think i'll use it in my engine oil.
Just my Non Ethanol Gas can that fuels my scoot.

I'm sure it's just the detergent action of the seafoam that dislodged a bunch of crud out of Guitars engine,,,He got it used with medium miles but it suffered a bit of neglect,,i can remember guys using kerosene in engines,,,they'd drop out a quart of the old and top the engine up with kero,,,run it for a bit and you wouldn't believe what came out of the drain,,,rare nowadays to have that kind of buildup,,,we took the cam cover off of my buddies gxr1000 to check the valves,,,,50,000 miles,,,one exhaust valve was out .001,,,it looked as new inside,,,there was virtually no wear ,,you can still see thru the oil i drop out of my bikes during a change,,,and in the filter wells,,they look as new,,not even any varnishing around galley ports,,,nothing,,modern engines run super clean,,

No such thing as mechanic in a can. And yes, I got my bike used and very abused. I was worried I was going to have to pull the whole thing apart and rebuild it when I got it but I've been able to get and keep it running while slowly doing back maintenance and upgrades. So when I put the Seafoam in, I had an idea I was going to get sludge out. I just had no idea it was that bad. But the difference was so dramatic it really caught me by surprise.

I enjoy wrenching on my stuff, but I have so many other things to do that I usually get my mechanic to do the big stuff for me. I just don't have the time.  So a huge time saver like Seafoam is tops in my book.  I totally 100% recommend it.  Be sure to read the destructions first.

What Brand of oil in your Buddy's Gixer?

he used to run mobil 1,,,till i turned him to the dark side ,,,royal purple,,,with a 4 oz shot of lucas oil stabilizer,,,with this combination we saw a 60-70 cooler peak operating temp,,,with back to back runs,,,it really did make a noticable difference,,,you could feel it,,,,man that thing had grunt,,,with a capitol G

Another update on my bike.
Whatever the Seafoam removed was also causing problems with my shifter.
95% of the Neutral problem I had is gone. Now when I reach for it, I can actually find it.

This just keeps getting better and better.

Royal Purple out of the great State of Texas.
I recommended to a couple ATV Hot Rod builders I had in Texas, were having Clutch, Gear, Heat issues with a Valvoline Dino oil, gone with the purple.
I enjoy there Gear oil in the final drive of the Scoot and also the Diff. of the Street/Strip Silverado.
Also enjoy there Trans. oil in the Silverado's PATC Raptor 700-R4.
Wish I did temp. comparison on the Diff, surprising how hot they run.
Kinda stuck on the Maxima for the CBR1K.
Next change for the Silverado gets Maxima, will do temp comparisons this time.
I see you use the Lucas regular, Good Results??

ive used seafoam before. seemed to work pretty good. all I use in mine is conventional oil because ive seen how they can start having seeping oil leaks with synthetic. never tried royal purple engine oil before but ive used their 2 cycle oil before.
in the gearcase I use just standard 90wt but ive heard that if you switch to synthetic in that you can pretty much forget about changing it later and it will be ok. of course that's only after the first 1000-2000 miles when the metal shavings are all gone out of it.
