Great might as well go a little bigger on the displacement since your replacing the top end. More displacement is a little more power. Now the BBK will not give you much of any more top end but it will give you more low end power(TORQUE) which will get you to your current speeds faster(in less time). The extra power will be able to move the weight much faster. What was your top end speed before? And does the Scoot have a TACH and if so what RPMS does the tach read at WIDE OPEN THROTTLE. Knowing the rpms and speed it will help to determine what you can expect with some other changes. 99% of the chino 150cc scoots will only do 50-52 REAL MPH, the speedo may say more but the speedos are way off some over 20% off reading to high. SO if it says 60mph you may be doing a real 50mph etc.. Also if the scoot does not have a TACH I would suggest getting one. They are indispensable for tuning the motor and cvt to try and get the most out of the ride performance wise. Here is a good little tach that installs in 5 minutes. www.trailtech.net/digital-gauges/tto?cat=117Alleyoop

My top end it about 50 on level ground and 45 uphill. on level ground my rpm's are usually about 6000-6500 wot(honestly i cant recall if it is 6 or 7000 but it is never 7500.... i think). My speedometer is pretty accurate. I had my brother drive next to me in his car several times to verify readings. So is it variator and roller weight time? How do I get that top end the CHEAPEST way?

Well you proved what I know about the speeds of these scoots. Stock yours is doing 50mph some if there lucky will do close to 55 stock but those are rare. Right now from your RPMS they are low which means the weights are a little on the heavy side. 150s run pretty good with 11-12 gram weights your running in the 6000 range which I would suspect 13-14 gram weights. Now for every GRAM UP OR DOWN the rpms will change by 500-600. So knowing the current gram weights you currently have you can get the weights you want and need to get the rpms to be little over 7K. If you do not have a digital scale to weigh in grams take a weight to the post office and have them weigh one roller so you can then make the right decision on which way to go and what grams to get and try.
Cheapest would be a 115mm Variator and tune your cvt. Tuning the CVT will get you 3-4 mph more on the top end with the right rpms. Next if you got the BBK in would be taller Gears in the tranny going 2up and 2down on the teeth will get you 6-8 mph more on the top end they run around $50.00. Alleyoop

so my bbk is coming in today. do i have to break it in? Yes! Dino Oil for break in. More importantly than varying RPM's is varying engine load. The Rings will Seat in in 20 miles or so, and thats it.

So tall gears need special equipment for installation?

Here you go: Stock gears on the 150 scoots are 13/40-- to get more speed you go up on the 13 gear and down on the 40 gear(JUST REMEMBER A BIGGER DRIVEN WHEEL WILL TURN A SMALLER SLAVE WHEEL MORE TIMES)example In my trike I put in 16/37 gears(OEM were 13/40) www.partsforscooters.com/Gear_set_gy6Just be careful and not slap in to tall of gearing if your motor is basically stock displacement if you do it will be a SLUG. Don't forget your rpms will also drop(IF YOUR MOTOR DOES NOT HAVE ENOUGH POWER/TORQUE TO PULL THE GEARING)so you have to know what your doing and may need some CVT tuning to get some rpms back. The most I recommend on the gearing for a STOCK motor is 2up and 2down so if stock are 13/40 most put in is 15/38 gears. Alleyoop

Im up and running though but i have some squeaking like a mouse in a wheel. must be the new rings

when you say cvt tuning what exactly do you mean?

CVT tuning means a performance Variator, experiment with different gram weights maybe need a stronger Contra spring(that is the spring that push the outside CLUTCH pulley closed. So a stronger contra spring will require more rpms to open it up to drop the belt down. Alleyoop
