I was riding one day and she stopped running. it cranks but no spark at the ignition coil and plug. I replaced the CDI, ignition coil, plug and still nothing. I thought it might be kill switch, so i dicconnected the black/white wire from CDI to bypass the switch..still nothing. only thing i can think is ignition switch. how do i test that? i also checked my grounds. Please cna anyone help me...thanks

Get yourself a multi meter they are not expensive less than $10.00 at any harbor freight store and test your system. IF you tested for spark correctly HOLDING the spark plug on the Valve Cover and cranked it and saw no spark, then switch it and hold it on the frame and see if it sparks there. IF IT does not spark on either frame or motor then since you put in a new coil and new cdi and bypassed the killswitch there are only a couple more possible causes:
If it sparks on the frame but not the Motor CHECK the ground wire from the motor to the frame. If the ground is bad it will not fire in the motor.
1. The pick up coil 2. The Stator 3. The Plug
1. Try a new plug the old plug may be cracked inside and grounding out. 2. Test the PICK UP coil the multi meter should read .025-2.5 VAC if not within that range replace the pick up coil. 3. Test the Stator for power to the CDI, if low then I would replace the stator AND the pick up coil. Alleyoop
One thing is Since you

Here is the PICK UP COIL, it is right above the FLYWHEEL a little black box with a wire that goes to the CDI. When the Flywheel OUTSIDE MAGNET as you see in the picture passes under the PICK UP COIL the coil sends .25 to 2.5 Volts AC to the CDI which triggers the CDI to RELEASE the VOLTAGE to the COIL it has built up to fire the plug. thanks so the engine has to be cranking to test it? is this where the volts start, and then get to the plug? I am trying to trace the volts from start to plug

If you follow the VIDEO it tests everything, so just follow the video and test the same. The Stator Feeds Power to the CDI that is the BOTTOM WIRE ON THE 2 PLUG SIDE of the CDI right below the WHITE AND BLACK KILL wire and the only other thing from the stator side is the PICKUP coil which on the CDI is the TRIGGER WIRE. The other wires from the CDI is one OUT TO THE COIL and the green ground. That is all there is. Here is the wires on the CDI.

Alleyoop, I only have two wires on the 4 prong CDI. top right, coil feed and bottom left ground. I have no trigger wire. does the trigger go to the ign coil? I think the guy bypassed trigger on CDI cause there is a wire to my ign coil and not sure where it goes to. the scoot ran great for 3 yrs wired his way. where do the 2 wires from ign coil go? I don't see how it ran with no trigger wire on Cdi HELP

This is a 4 STROKE RIGHT? If so I do not believe it was wired this way and running. How was the CDI releasing the voltage to the COIL without knowing when. If so the Trigger wire comes from the PICK UP COIL usually blue. So Check by the FLYWHEEL and follow the wire from the PICKUP COIL.
The coils usually have TWO wires one from the CDI and most have a ground wire.
But HOW ABOUT some pictures from you, pictures of your CDI, the Flywheel to see if the PICK UP COIL is there etc..
HERE IS THE VIDEO:

Ok, now I see why you have NO SPARK(HAHA). The Coil Feed Wire from the CDI to the COIL is missing. See that WIRE Plugged into the ORANGE COIL on the BLUE TERMINAL that wire SHOULD COME from the SLOT I LABELED in this picture. CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO EXPAND THEM SO YOU CAN READ AND SEE THEM BETTER:

Yes Alleyoop, there is a Y/B wire he spliced and it goes to the ign. coil..haven't been able to trace to where it is connected. My trigger wire read .5VAC while cranking. When the ign key is turned to run, there is supposed to be 12V at the power feed wire on the Cdi...I had no reading...so i connected a wire to the pos. pole on battery and conneted it to the CDI power feed...when i cranked motor, the Cdi blew up..ooops. got to order a new one again. still i don't know how this scoot ran so good with no feed from Cdi to ign coil. i am back to where i was when i started, except now i will never put a live wire to ANYTHING...lol
