A guy near me has a 244cc Roketa that is overheating. The temp gauge does not work, but the fan comes on. After a while it gets hot and starts erupting from the overflow bottle. Other than blocked lines, what am I looking for? Water pump?

Yes, the water pump would be suspect or if it is really old the radiator may be clogged. Alleyoop

Like Alley says, the age and how well the cooling system was maintained is important. This particular type scoot is prone to overheating and needs all the help it can get. You might also want to check the thermostat to make sure it's not sticking. The temp gauge should also be repaired so that you can check to see how well the work on the cooling system is doing.
